SOLVED. Banker's family held hostage. [s]

This was a mystery or thriller book I read about 4 years ago. I don't know when it was published. It begins with a bank manager's family being held hostage while he is forced to make a withdrawal from his bank. He tells his employees it is for some kind of security test with the FDIC. His employees are suspicious until one of them finds a note he left saying his family is being held. As a detective is working the case a woman reporter gets wind of the case and starts asking questions. The detective feeds her information in exchange for what she learns. An underlying attraction between them develops.
