I'm writing a novel about a criminal who has been a high priority target for a fictional group called CAIT, whose primary purpose is to take down high profile targets that are too dangerous and powerful for local authorities.
In the novel I want my protagonist, who recently got a job working for said criminal to look after his young daughter, to somehow be 'taken' by CAIT and forced to make a decision of whether or not to help them get evidence on the criminal or simply help them take him down. By the end of the novel, I want the criminal to be put in jail.
Any ideas on what I can do? I'm really stumped on the plot and espionage type stuff is sort of out of my domain but I need it in the novel if I want it to the end the way I've planned.
BTW the criminal designs builds and sells illegal weaponry, robotics and technology.
