Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #7 (animal shelter) - The One That Got Away by Simon Wood. Initially an interesting concept, the writing just didn't hold up. The word usage was repetitive and there were holes in the plot. The ending was completely unbelievable. Not worth listening to the audiobook. Ok to read if it's free on kindle. 3 stars

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just finished #2 (creative outlet) - Dead Certain by Adam Mitzner. An enjoyable, quick read with good twists and turns. The legal aspect was accurate, which I greatly appreciate. I figured out the mystery, but it didn't stop my enjoyment. Definitely worth reading! I received this book as a free giveaway in exchange for my honest review. 4 stars

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #21 (road trip) - The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. I feel emotionally wrung out from reading this book. Everything from the way the prose was written, to the descriptions, to the characters, to the way that bits and pieces of the backstory were revealed was artfully and masterfully done. And even though I burst into tears at the thing I never wanted to happen but knew would happen and my heart broke, this is still one of the best books I've read in a long time. Going right into the second book now. Definitely worth reading! 5 stars

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #18 (instrument - flute) - Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. I really enjoyed the epistolary and mixed media style of this book! It knit the plot together nicely, until the book just ended abruptly. Still worth reading! 4 stars
