WHY does Stevie like true crime?

Can anyone who recently read Truly Devious remind me if there is a reason given for why Stevie likes true crime? It has been the better part of a year since I read this book, and I'd so appreciate any answers.

Hi! Know this was posted over a month ago, but I literally just finished and thought I'd respond since no one else has.

The reason given in the book is that it helps her focus when she's about to get panic attacks. When she's focusing hard on trying to solve other problems she is able to tone out what is making her anxious.

I'm not sure if you have the book available near you, but if you wanted the exact passage it should be in chapter 7. Not sure if your copy is different from mine, but it's on page 111 within the last full paragraph.
