ABANDONED. Historical romance where hero and heroine are on a ship.

I need help remembering this book. All I remember is that heroine is travelling with her maid and she meets hero over there. They had a history together( don’t remember if they were married or engage)
and heroine is kinda just anyone to know that they know each other. Heroine is hiding from someone but I am not sure. Another scene i remember is hero trying to seek into heroine room by persuading heroine
