Savana | 8 comments The Night Circus, the entire time I was reading it I kept thinking I would love to see it as a movie. Such vivid descriptions!

Rachel Heaney | 210 comments Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton.

We just read this book for November book club and all agreed it would make for a fantastic screenplay!

Indian Horse is already a movie :)

message 54: by Chinook (new)

Chinook | 731 comments I asked my husband what book he would most like to be made into a movie and he said The Black Prism. So I guess I’ll likely take this as a chance to read one of his favourite authors, which will make him very happy.

message 55: by Margaret (new)

Margaret (marsenault13) | 3 comments I would love Lies of Lock Lamora as a movie. I could read any of the series so far over again.

message 56: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer T. (jent998) | 231 comments I’m currently reading trail of lightning and can absolutely see it as a movie.
Trail of Lightning (The Sixth World, #1) by Rebecca Roanhorse

message 57: by Jess (new)

Jess Penhallow | 427 comments I see this one as a gimme. I've not filled it in yet but I'm sure I will read at least one book this year that I will want to see on screen.

Same. I am sure one of the book that I read for Book Club will fill this prompt easily.

message 60: by Tina (new)

Tina (tinatome) I'd watch a movie for Red Rising or Six of Crows, for sure. But I'm with everyone else in hoping I read a non-challenge book that will fit the prompt later.

message 61: by Diane (new)

Diane (didi3023) | 19 comments The Mysteries of Udolpho by Ann Radcliffe; I think it should be a series!

message 62: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (tattooed_bookworm) | 23 comments Initially thought I'd go the easy route on this one and re-read because sooooo many books I've read would make GREAT movies, but I'll take others advice on this one!

I read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini but I definitely have A Thousand Splendid Suns and And the Mountains Echoed on my list... definitely options!

My advice to anyone looking for a book.... The Butterfly Garden is INCREDIBLE and so is Beautiful Disaster! I hope BOTH of these are made into movies!!!

message 63: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (Red Reading Hood) (ckdowell) | 1 comments Maybe it's just me but I would love to see They Both Die at the End as a movie. it's so sad but it's so real

I think the Kite Runner is already a movie?

message 65: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Tobin (jesstobin) | 7 comments I think that The Last Time I Lied would be perfect on screen. I just finished that one last week.

message 66: by Trina (new)

Trina Gloury (mactrin) | 76 comments I haven't read it yet, but I have heard nothing but glowing reviews for it so far, and that's The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. All of the booktube accounts I follow say how amazing this novel is and how it would be perfect for the screen as well.

My best read of this year, and Ive had some REALLY good ones. This book took me completely off guard. I had no intention of reading it. The cover turned me off. I ended up using it for a challenge prompt and it was my first book of the year. It floored me. I agree that it would make a fantastic movie. Actually now that you've mentioned it, I really really hope it happens :-)

LOL Trina, I literally tried to kick my Dr out of the exam room when he came in and I was at the one part where I was like OMG>>>WTF... NOOOOOOO!!!!! He laughed at me , and then I had to wait until I got home. Usually I read kindle books on my iPhone while Im out and about, but thats the one hardcover copy I carried EVERYWHERE.

message 71: by Megan (new)

Megan | 361 comments Naomi's Room

I started it this year but I'm stopping because this would make an awesome atmospheric spooky ghost story-type movie.

Oh I did not know that. Yay!! On Netflix or???

message 73: by Ian (new)

Ian (iansreads) it was on Starz

message 74: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 186 comments And it's such a good show! I hear there were some problems shooting the second season but hopefully it will air at some point in 2019.

message 75: by Cyndy (new)

Cyndy (cyndy-ksreader) | 133 comments Teri wrote: "And why has Kindred by Octavia E. Butler never been made into a movie? ..."

No kidding! This is a great book. I am not a sci-fi fan at all. Kindred involves time travel and I would have avoided it permanently, if not for a friend that kept pressing me to read it. EXCELLENT choice!

The Biased Bibliophile (thebiasedbibliophile) | 13 comments Daughter of Smoke & Bone and Strange the Dreamer both by Laini Taylor would be amazing as movies. I would also love to see The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer turned into movies!

message 77: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Kraus (sarahk2013) I will be reading Red Queen for this one. It should have been made into a movie and it's been on my TBR for a while now.

message 78: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 737 comments I think I'm going to just wait and see what comes up next year. I'm sure something I read will feel cinematic to me and then I'll be good. I sympathize with those who want to pre-plan their list though. This is a prompt that favors retrofitting.

message 79: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey | 16 comments I agree, the Lies of Locke Lamora series would be fantastic as movies or a TV series

The Ruby Red series has been made into films :) the English dubbed versions are hard to find though, and sadly they were dubbed in American accents

message 81: by Sara (new)

Sara Goldsmith | 13 comments I am reading The Kiss of Deception for this part of this challenge. This was the best book I have read in a while and I am excited to read it again.

message 82: by Alexis (new)

Alexis Humphreys (ladyleckus) | 12 comments Gemina (The Illuminae Files, #2) by Amie Kaufman !!!

young adult space fight on spaceships. plus it's a trilogy! so it could be lots of movies. It would be so cool as a movie trilogy.

message 83: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Cliff | 4 comments I've got 2 for this prompt and haven't decided which to go for yet. The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There or Glass Sword. Both are second books in a series.

message 84: by Mike (new)

Mike | 443 comments Technically, any book that has already been turned into a movie should qualify here. Provided that you agree that the movie should have been made.

message 85: by Johanna (new)

Johanna Ellwood (jpellwood) | 236 comments I can think of a ton of books I've read that I would love to see made into movies. However, since I'm looking for as few re-reads as possible, I guess I'll see if I come across any books this year that will fall into this prompt.

message 86: by Rachelnyc (new)

Rachelnyc | 186 comments Mike wrote: "Technically, any book that has already been turned into a movie should qualify here. Provided that you agree that the movie should have been made."

As with most things, it's a matter of interpretation but the way I interpret this prompt is that it needs to be a book that hasn't yet been made into a movie but *should*, in the reader's opinion.

I'm with Johanna on re-reads but I usually end up reading at least a few books that I think would make good movies every year so I expect it will be the same next year.

message 87: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Tobin (jesstobin) | 7 comments I think The Last Time I Lied and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo would be great books for this. I want to see both made into movies. But I've already read them, so I'm just going to continue looking for a book for this one.

message 88: by Abbie (new)

Abbie (abbienormal21) | 91 comments I just flew through Monday's Not Coming in two days and now I wish I had waited a couple of weeks longer to use it for this prompt. When I was in high school, my health teacher used to show us movies to talk about issues like domestic abuse or eating disorders, and the story in this book made me feel like it was perfect for a movie like that (and I mean that in the best possible way--while the themes fall into "afterschool special" territory it is so well done and the specific topic in the book, a young black girl who goes missing in DC and is largely forgotten by her community, is something that should absolutely be getting attention).

message 89: by Megan (new)

Megan (meganmady) | 4 comments Sandra wrote: "I think I found the perfect book for this prompt: P.S. I Still Love You - after watching the To All the Boys I've Loved Before movie, I really want the sequel to be ..."

Such a great idea! I actually haven't read either of the books, but really loved the movie and would adore a sequel.

message 90: by Laura Lynn (new)

Laura Lynn (lauralynnfoster) | 4 comments The Night Circus by Erin Moregenstern

message 91: by Robyn (new)

Robyn Hendrix | 19 comments I would recommend The Paladin Prophecy and subsequent two books - YA supernatural fiction, also fits in the character with super powers prompt. It's very teen boy centric but fast paced and fun, and I'm surprised they haven't already become movies.

message 92: by Carol (new)

Carol Roote | 119 comments My choice would be Lightning if I hadn't already read it.

message 93: by Rose (new)

Rose | 5 comments This may not be a popluar choice, but I think you could make a really creative and unique film adaptation of The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon.

I don't know, just throwing it out there.

message 94: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 26 comments "Little Fires Everywhere" - Celeste Ng

message 95: by Carol (new)

Carol Roote | 119 comments Looking for Alaska would also be a good choice for this prompt.

A movie version is already in the works, set for release on May 17, 2019. So it would work for the "made into a movie in 2019" prompt. Also "takes place in one day"; "A book with no chapters / unusual chapter headings / unconventionally numbered chapters" and "astrology term in title".

Me three! Especially since I'm trying to fill prompts from books I already own.

message 98: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (layla101) | 6 comments I've already picked out Priestess of the White by Trudi Canavan for this prompt, I haven't fully read the series yet but I loved the first book!

message 99: by Erin (new)

Erin (maclanoodle) | 30 comments I LOVED The Sin Eater’s Daughter so much I read the first two books in the series in a week, so if I can wait until the new year to read the third, I'm going to use that one for this prompt. I think the entire series would be amazing as a movie.
