Is Kvothe's flirting as cringeworthy as I think?

I just read the Denna heavy section of the Name of the Wind, and Kvothe's interactions with her just seemed so embarrassing. The whole first meeting at the Eolian made me so uncomfortable. Do other people feel the same way? Do you think adult Kvothe who is telling the story is embarrassed?

It is a little awkward, but the kid's sole romantic experience came from his theater upbringing, so it's understandable.

I think adult Kvothe is a little embarrassed, but he's trying not to show it.

Oh good point I hadn't really thought about it like that. I guess a lot of Kvothe's actions can be partly explained by his stage background. Still doesn't keep me from hating him haha
