Help! I'm trying to find a book I've read before and can't remember the name or author :-/

Help fellow readers and authors!
I'm trying to add all the books I've read over the years! What a daunting task especially when you read them and don't keep them or loan them...

I'm fairly new to goodreads, I joined in September. One of the book's I'm trying to find is about a mother and her daughter who go to a "dude" ranch and meet a handsome man (not sure if he's called a cowboy or not...) Anyway, they end up getting lost/something happens and get involved in some trouble (I'm not sure if it's drug runners/criminals/etc.) and the mom and the guy start to have a connection and come to find out he's an undercover DEA agent... Does ANYONE know what I'm talking about? Book or author or both? I read it so long ago that I don't remember the details... I just know that I really enjoyed it and want to share and read it again... It's gotta be at least 12 years old. I have no idea who the author is... maybe Diane Palmer?? I could be WAY off base here... I figured if anyone could it would be goodreaders readers!!!

Protector maybe check this one? It kind of sounds the closest. I have a ton of Diana Palmer books. One of my very favorites by her is Lacy. Hope this helps, I hate when you get a book stuck in your head and can't find it! I spent years trying to find one I had read as a young girl and just barely found it a couple of years ago :D

Zuzu, nope, unfortunately, that's not it! But thanks for trying!
If I remember correctly, the book was set in New Mexico?! Further west than Texas... I know that it wasn't Texas, I would have remembered that ;-) And this guy didn't own the ranch, he was just a ranch hand there.

Well, funny story actually... this will make time number 2 that I have "lost" and found this book... You would think I would have written it down!!! Oh well, having 2 major surgeries in one year does a number to your short term memory LOL!!!
