Bargle | 1751 comments I came across a book on one of my personal shelves where I hadn't given it a genre shelf. Since there was no description (now corrected), I couldn't figure out why I wanted to read it. I thought most likely it had come up as the answer to a question here in the group, so I did search of the group bookshelf. The book came up, but there's no link to the discussion that got it put there. On the group bookshelf pages there's a link to 'view activity', but that link isn't there after you've done a search and going through 71 pages with 200 books per page on the group shelf trying to spot it isn't practical. I thought there might a link to a discussion on the book's main listing page, but I don't see one. The regular group search function turns up a large number of results since one of our members is named Kimberley like the title of the book. I also tried 'Colin' and 'Burke', but no luck. Am I missing something or is there a way to find the discussion?

Kimberley by Colin Burke.

Gerd | 221 comments Doubt that there's a an easy way for it, the search functions on GR are generally wonky at best.

Rosa (rosaiglarsh) | 5379 comments Since you linked to it, Bargle, it will show up on the side of this discussion, next to a link that says “Other topics.” Click on “other topics,” and it will take you to a list of all the discussions in this group mentioning the book.

I don't see that book in the Group Bookshelf. When I search for the book, an "Add to Group" button for moderators appears beside it.

My guess is it's one of those accidental "adds" on the site, especially since you haven't tagged the book. For example, once in a while Goodreads seems to mark a book as Read while I'm quickly scanning pages or using various features. Perhaps I misclicked or it's a minor glitch.

Bargle | 1751 comments Kris, I suspect that's what happened. Going by the description, it isn't a type of book I would read.

Thanks everyone.

Bargle | 1751 comments Well, now I feel silly. I was looking through a stack of books here at home and guess what I found? Yup, "Kimberley". I don't think I've mentioned it much here, but I'm a Goodreads Librarian and I often edit book entries to correct or add to the info and add cover images. The entry for "Kimberley" didn't have a cover image and I planned to add it. I'd found the book among my late mother's books and then forgotten about it (and forgot to add it to my 'no cover image' shelf) and that's why I couldn't find a thread for it. Anyway, the cover is now added.
