Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8413 comments I'm totally NOT tech savvy.

Somehow I hit a key (or sequence) that hid my tool bar at the top of the page. I can't go "back" to a previous page. I can't close the window. I can't do ANYTHING!

Somebody please help me ... with detailed ... any idiot could follow - directions.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8413 comments Okay ... I managed to open a new window and VOILA everything was back the way I wanted it. I made sure it was staying put before I closed the old window.

S*I*G*H

But just in case that happens again ... is there some magic trick to restore my tool bar?

Thanks in advance.

annapi | 5505 comments I think hitting either F11 or F12 will do it. Try that next time.

Anita Pomerantz | 9280 comments So glad you figured it out, BC!

Here are some ideas I found for next time.

When you are in Full Screen mode, hover the mouse to the top of the screen to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.
You can use one of these to leave Full Screen mode:

1. press the F11 key
2. click the Maximize button at the right end of the Tab bar
3. click the Full Screen button in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list
4. right-click empty space on a toolbar and click "Exit Full Screen Mode"

Karin | 9210 comments Yes, that one is hard. I am trying to remember how the heck I've escaped from that very same scenario, which I have inadvertently put myself into several times. Yes, one of them was by opening a new window, but there might have been another way, too, if only I could remember.

Yes, I think it's usually F11 that does it! (Or, at least, will put it back.)
