My (in progress) list:Rogue Protocol
Exit Strategy
A Girl Like Her - this is a Romance but I <3 it. The heroine is on the autistic spectrum and is very well written.
Looking back through my 2018 reads I didn't find a single thing that came out this year. The closest was Nov 2017. And among the handful of things that I intend to finish before the end of the year, none of those came out in 2018 either. That doesn't help!
I had the same problem!! Most of my best reads of the last 12 months were outside cut off ranges. :-(
I'm just happy I actually read 12 books this year... there were times when it felt like I wouldn't get past 4 or 5. As for the GR Choice Awards... I'm one of the horrible people who vote for the authors and series that I like or want to read.

I totally do now, too. I used not to - till they started having books that were unpublished win the damn award(s). So I said fuck it. It's all wish-fulfillment and popularity regardless.
I haven't actually gone through my list yet, but I doubt I read very many books that were published this year. The only one I read from the GR Awards for fantasy was Spinning Silver, and for mystery I will be reading Lethal White, but I'm still #89 for my hold at the library, so I might not even get it by the end of this year.
From Young Adult I've read The Belles and The Cruel Prince - neither of which I'd vote for as best of the year, though I will be continuing with the latter series.

I thought about Spinning Silver but I decided against it as it is a "dark read."
SO, currently reading Beyond the Empire which was released 14-Nov-2017. WOOT! I'm loving it. I'm more than 75% done and it's made the list!

Driving to Geronimo's Grave: and Other Stories was a favorite for me.Not even sure what category to put it in, but I loved it.

It looks interesting - but it's also got some scary, so... ;-)
I have Black Hat Jack and Rumble Tumble by him but never read either.

I vote but I hold my nose while doing it.
With that being said, what are some books you would nominate for best in 2018? Not giving a shit about politics, popularity and how much money GR gets out of it.
Published Time Frame: 01-Nov-2017 through 01-Nov-2018
