I just listened to my first full audiobook during my recent travels (well, the first one since about 20 years ago, which was a cassette tape I listened to in my car)! Hadn't liked it when I attempted it again about 2 years ago and abandoned that book, but this time I enjoyed it. It was Yuletide. I think Harry Frost could probably make even a phonebook sound sexy. Considering that he narrated Nefarious, I KNOW you'd enjoy hearing him tell you the story! I've got that one and Joana Starnes' The Road to Pemberley lined up for my road/air trip starting tomorrow.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and to everyone else reading this! (No idea whether I'll have the opportunity to check in here this week.)

How did the surgery go J W??

The second was delayed a bit by this and that which caused a few discomforts. It is now over and the sight in my left eye has already started clearing up.
They say I have 20/20 on distance in my right eye; however, I will need readers to read and do things close up. I had several on hand and that is what I am using right now in order to see my computer screen. No problems. I will miss my nearsightedness but this was necessary. Blessings, everyone. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.

How to Tame a Beastly Lord

Hubby news: We start a new round of treatments on Monday and I am glad to have both eyes working as I have to drive him. He is still on a walker and his vehicle is in the drive with a dead battery. We didn't drive it enough to keep it charged and he said leave it until spring as he didn't figure he'd be up to driving it this winter.
The serviceman that works on my car said he could bring a new battery to our house and would install it for us when we were ready. So that can be fixed quickly if we need it. Hubby's truck is hard for him to get in and out of it. Men and their trucks. It isn't even one of the big ones.
Hubby decided since we were using my car that we needed new tires so we would have good traction this winter. Whew! If it isn't one thing it is another.
Thanks, everyone for your thoughts and prayers for us. Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving.

My Mum's car battery died from lack of use as well but she got it replaced because she didn't want to not have the option of driving all winter. We just need to make sure we remember to start it up and run it a bit every few days.
I hope your husbands new treatments go well.
Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Caveat from the blurb: "Author's Note: This is a magical retelling of the beloved tale written for an adult audience. Reader discretion is advised." Just saying....

Heavy sigh. Yeah, I suppose I do. I already had the first book so I couldn't resist the second. I've read several of Howell's books and enjoyed them. I am also trying to watch for discounts on the e-books of the older ones I read years ago. Most I had gotten from the Library and I have always wanted my own copy.
