I listened to my first podcast on book recommendations today! It's called What Should I Read Next by Anne Bogle, author of I'd Rather Be Reading: The Delights and Dilemmas of the Reading Life. Here's the link to the Show Notes.
I thought it was great and I picked up several books to add to my TBR! I listened to episode 152, in which they were talking mostly about Canadian Lit. Here are some of the book recommendations, (which could also help with other prompts).
Canadian-related:
Indigenous: Monkey Beach, The Lesser Blessed (YA)
Settlers of the Marsh by Frederick Philip Grove
Nothing Like Love by Sabrina Ramnanan (set on Trinidad & Tobago)
The Cartographer of No Man's Land by P.S. Duffy (WWI, nominee for the *Dayton Literary Peace Prize)
The Boat People by Sharon Bala
The Lola Quartet by Emily St. John Mandel
Not Canadian-related:
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch (fantasy w/ several awards)
The Measure of My Powers: A Memoir of Food, Misery and Paris by Jackie Kai Ellis (memoir, food-related)
*Side Note: The Dayton Literary Peace Prize is the first and only annual U.S. literary award recognizing the power of the written word to promote peace. This might be another interesting prize to follow and read!

Since this was one of the most chosen prompts on the 2019 Rejects tab on the community spreadsheet, I thought I would start a thread for it to help people crowdsource podcasts, videos, or blogs that they would recommend looking at for inspiration!
I don't listen to many podcasts or watch vlogs, but my favorite blog is Jamie at The Perpetual Page-Turner. She reads a lot of YA, if that's your style, but she also reviews some adult fiction, and she was my inspiration for reading personal development books this year!
