SOLVED. Series Child Adventures - Boy goes to sleep, a picture or circle glows in he moonlight and he the goes through the circle to a time of sailors/pirates and treasure adventures - read in the 90s. [s]

So I read these when I was a child in the 90s - between 7-10 years.
I think they were published between 50-80s

His picture(of a boat I think) would glow, and he would then find himself either on the boat or on an island. They weren't pirates as such, more just sailors and they would have adventures, possibly against pirates for treasure.

He would then often be falling asleep on his hammock, and the window on the ship would glow again and he would be back in the real world?!

There was a series of them, always got excited when I found a new one in my primary school library - 5-6 books

Not being able to find them has been doing my head in for weeks now!!! Pleas help!
