Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #8 (listopia) - Night Road by Kristin Hannah. Overall, a good read. In signature Hannah fashion, the characters were complex and sympathetic and tugged at the heart strings. My biggest issue was the beginning was a bit slow and the ending was rushed. It was too perfect. Worth reading. 4 stars

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #1 (historical event) - Fear: Trump in the White House by Bob Woodward. For the second time in our country's history, we have elected a consummate actor. And the Americans who voted for him got exactly what they wanted - an uneducated blowhard and bully. Fear is the perfect title for this book because that's exactly what the vast majority of Americans have lived with since the election in 2016. Woodward's reporting is supported with documentation and sources. The editing could have been a bit better, as there are quite a few grammatical errors. But overall, such an important book but difficult to read. 4.5 stars

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #7 (quarterly task not completed - Bibliophile) - Almost Everything: Notes on Hope by Anne Lamott. I started reading this in the middle of Bob Woodward's book, Fear, and I really needed it as a palate cleanser. But then as I continued through her thoughtful notes, I really did start to feel hopeful. I'm returning my library copy ASAP so others can read it, then I'm purchasing my own copy to have at home so I can return to these little hope notes as needed. Definitely worth reading! 5 stars
