Wow, Stiorra's death was unexpected. Still feels unreal, since we didn't "witness" it as a reader and it happened while Uhtred and Sigtryggr were both away. Both have not been back to Eoferwic since it happened, but Sigtryggr has already had a new wife imposed on him. What if they return to Eoferwic to find out that stories of Stiorra's death have been greatly exaggerated, and she's only been wounded and is going to recover? Ok, I admit that's a very slim hope.
Also, I KNEW Mus/Sunngifu wasn't gonna remain a nun. She's way too sexually active and looking out for her own wellbeing than to stay locked up in a convent.
I really liked Osferth's appearance. I already liked him a lot when he was still a boy, defying everyone by making Uhtred train him as a warrior.
I was wondering how Cornwell would steer the series after the last book and Stiorra was definitely a great way to set Uhtred on a mission.
