Sci fi book about an old carrier

Hey guys,

Im trying to remember the name of this book. Its about an old space fighter carrier that was about to be retired. Not sure if it was because of an attack, or it was on its last mission when something happened.

I can give some more details, but don't want to post spoilers, even if i can't remember the name or author.

More details would definitely help, because "Old ship has to keep fighting" is a pretty large sub-genre all by itself. The one that comes to mind is Constitution by Nick Webb. The MC is the commanding officer of the oldest ship in the fleet, due to be decommissioned, but aliens attack and destroy all the other ships so they're humanity's only hope.
