Hour 8 - Where do you find your next read?
Goodreads, mostly. :) Rarely recommendations from friends.
I use a variety of different but mainly I get recommendations from other book tubers, goodreads, and sometimes facebook groups.
Most of the time I'm reading for research, so I usually find my next read in the footnotes of what I'm currently reading! For reading that's not for work, LitHub is one of my favorite sources, also weekly bulletins and "best of" lists from Publishers' Weekly. Also podcasts - Book Riot, and lots of political stuff from This Is Hell, the Majority Report, and the "New Books Network"
BookRiot, Tor.com, Litsy, and keeping track of upcoming releases in my preferred genres on NetGalley and Edelweiss, mostly.

Novelist is also a good source. And I use Goodreads, of course!

I usually use Goodreads or Instagram for recs but if I see a book I like the look of in a book store, or have read a synopsis that sounds interesting, I then double check that the Goodreads reviews are pretty good and that baby is mine!
I often just go to library and try to find something that catches my interest. Of course, I find a lot of books from Goodreads too. Just during this marathon I have already found six books that I NEED TO READ.
Lately bookbubs free reads or goodreads contest winners. Moneys been a bit tight. Before we moved I was in a book club so got new ideas from there. Plus just roaming around barnes and noble is always fun. Then of course there are favorite authors who I always get new books from
Usually via Tumblr book blogs or through author's newsletters or through Goodreads. But sometimes I'll just browse the library and grab the first books that catch my eye lol.
Shameless plug for the library (as a librarian, I must) -the library is great for those on a budget (like me). It's all FREE! I can't remember the last time I purchased a book for myself. I checkout everything I read from the library, both print and ebooks! All free! I would be extremely destitute if I bought all these books - I actually couldn't afford to support my reading habit at this point. I usually am reading two to three books at a time (unless I am so completely sucked into the story that I must focus on the one title).
The library is also a great place to browse and find books you've never heard of and try them. For FREE! (Did I say that already?)

From the recommendations of other goodreads members with similar tastes, from booktubers, from browsing at the library, and just from my physical TBR pile at home. Often specific books are chosen because of a reading challenge I am engaged in. I love those darn reading challenges.
I find my next read through: booktube, goodreads and the library!

Maybe I am rebelling against someone telling me what to read next! ha ha!
I'm going to try another or see what books I've already read this year can fit into a challenge.
Is there a particular reading challenge you found fun?
I expose myself to soooo many different avenues. Social media has been awesome for discovering new books. I’ve a few friends with similar reading taste so I can trust their recommendation. Depending on my mood I also search books with certain topics that I’m interested in reading and take it from there. 😊
Pretty much social media, I follow a lot of other bloggers as well as publicists and publisher accounts on Twitter. I do also read Book Riot and Goodreads but I find they can focus a bit too much on US books.
My most trusted sources for book recommendations are a couple of BookTubers I like (let me know if you want a list), sometimes bloggers/reviews on tumblr and - strange as it sounds - just picking whatever catches my fancy at the library and the bookstore. Sometimes I also pick up books which have made it onto the longlists of various book prizes, and I have a long physical TBR which contains a lot of classics I bought during my literature degree but never read/finished. I'm very slowly working my way through those...
Almost always either a favorite author or a recommendation from friends on GoodReads.
I enjoy browsing bookshops frequently (often twice a week!) so I discover new releases there. I'm also subscribed to newsletters and follow a lot of book bloggers of social media - titles which catch my eyes go on my to-read list!
I generally resort to my challenge lists.
I'm a librarian, so most of them I find from my own book orders!
I've been trying to get to know more about Indonesian literature from pre-colonial time to the "modern classics". I wrote down most of the author's names from the memoirs of one of the most important female writers in Indonesian literature scene, Nh. Dini. The rest are from quick researches on the internet and the longlist of Kusala Sastra Khatulistiwa, formerly Khatulistiwa Literary Award.Other than those, it's just me trying to read everything by my favorite writers.
I look to my personal library first, which is largely unread. I also have a TBR from years of crafting pre-smartphones gathered from library and bookstore browsing and recommendations from other books I've read.
I find my reads either browsing the library shelves, looking through lists that go along with my interests on Goodreads, talking to the librarian at the High School where I teach or the Teen Librarian at the public library where I live.

Fantastic Fiction is usually my go to website, because I like to read like-authors and series.
I think, I find most new reads by browsing through bookshops. I just look at the displays in the shops and read the blurb of the one's that catch my eye ... that's it. Sometimes I read reviews in newspapers or magazines and find interesting new titles that way.
Or I just come back to authors I read and enjoyed before.
Usually on my TBR shelf, but sometimes a random 'lands in my lap' for whatever reason, and then I read that
I look at a lot of "diverse authors" threads on Twitter, plus whatever looks interesting/is available at the library.
I work in a library as well, so I find new reads all. the. time. Furthermore I find new reads in the Popsugar Challenge weekly check ins!
My Goodreads to-read shelf is thousands of books--but I tend to focus on my Books of the Month, Book Riot recommendations (especially from other Book Riot Insiders), other bloggers, Netgalley, etc. Sometimes, I just pick up things that look interesting at the library, too.

Goodreads a lot, browsing book stores or libraries or from reviews from friends or family. My collection at home is quite large, yet I seem to consistently get new ones or check out many books from the library, so my home collection of TBR never seems to dwindle, lol. So sometimes I'll find my next read by reacquainting myself with my bookshelf at home.
As a HS librarian, I get my books as ARCs from publishers, orders I place (and try to read before I put them out on the shelves) in our HS library, I still stop at least once a week at the public library, and have a special relationship with our local independent bookstore where they'll share ARCs as well. Recommendations from patrons, my bookish friends and colleagues, blogs, professional magazines, etc. which is why I have a perpetual TBR of at least 30 books at my house and plenty of holds at the library!
My TBR has grown exponentially since discovering podcasts! Especially Book Riot podcasts; they’re the best!
Max gets ideas from his scholastic book order at school, the book fair and by browsing through audible recommendations.I get most of my reading recommendations from the Play Book Tag group here at Goodreads or fantasyliterature.com.
I have a massive TBR, which I'm always adding to. And once I start a series I get a little obsessive about continuing it!
Goodreads mostly. I do miss the days of walking into the library and just browsing without reading reviews first though!
Goodreads, Instagram, Epic Reads, Netgalley, Penguin First-to-Read and book events (such as Yallwest and Comic-con.
I usually either just find something or have someone else pick for me. there is this group with you pick challenges where ppl use your tbr to suggest a book. this is awesome and helps keep my tbr clutter free.
I find most of my reads from the other Littens on Litsy. I have an English teacher colleague who has recommended a couple of good books to me as well. I'm trying very hard to curb my book-buying so I usually have to wait until the library has some of the newest stuff. I haven't been too successful at my book diet though :-/
I own hundreds of unread books, so I don't have to put any effort into finding something to read at this point. Other than that, I get most of my recs from Twitter!
Dear Lord, let it be on my shelves. Let me not go shopping at a bookstore. One more volume and my floor may collapse.
I mainly use bookriot. Every once in a while i find stuff in the NYTimesBookReview.

Still Beth here reading in Delaware during my first Readathon I could actually participate in! Usually I am with you all in spirit as I work, but not today!
I've managed to finish one book so far (and it was one I had already started), but I'm enjoying the Readathon experience.
As a librarian, I see a lot of books all day long, every day. I also get exposed to a lot of review sources and other book related things, but I was wondering where you all find your next reads? So let me know! I'm always looking for new blogs or vlogs or review sources!
Currently I use Book Riot, Reading Group Guides, Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews, Publishers Weekly, and some individual blogs.
