I've gotten more than a little ahead of schedule...Just finished chapter 14. :) What do y'all think of Monty?
I think Monty is reckless and rebellious--the product of people (especially his father) seeing him as the next heir of his father. So far, I think he's sick of the expectation people give to him; Monty has to be the a gentle, soft-spoken aristocrat, and he thinks everyone forgets about who he is at the moment; a teenager. Monty just wants to live like a normal teenager should be, but of course he can't have that, can he? That's why he rebels. Yet, at the same time, he also fears of being disowned by his own parents. In which I found pretty irony to what Monty portrays himself in front of anyone.
I also kinda feel like.. Felicity will intervene in Percy/Monty's relationship. What do you think? There's no way she travels with them and not even think there's something happening between those two.
I'm only chapter 4....so far I like it. I wish I was farther along with it but whenever I try to read it before I fall asleep...I fall asleep while reading it.
The problem was the same with me when I first picked the book. The plot is too slow and boring for my liking, it's almost like a bedtime story... it's such a shame because the characters are amazing.

Now that it's picking up pace, I'm really enjoying the plot.
The characters are amazing! Of course, I love Monty and his recklessness and mild arrogance; he's SO flawed which makes me love him even more! Percy is an absolute sweetheart - he must be protected at all costs ;-) But, Felicity is my current favorite! She's such a strong, smart, and feisty character!!
I also feel bad about Felicity. Just because she's woman, she doesn't have the same privilege as Percy and Monty. She's strong and smart and feisty, I agree. It's such a shame that everyone doesn't look at her the same way as Monty and Percy.

I agree, I have mixed feeling about the book. I love the historical setting and slow burn relationship, but the plot it's a bit slow in the beginning but it's rushed on the few last chapters

I also think that she threw too many things into the plot.
