As usual, RaT is about getting some books finished before I start new ones!Currently Reading:

The Drums of Autumn; by Diana Gabaldon (physical book)
The Throne of Jade; by Naomi Novik (audiobook)Up next:
Hard News; by Jeffrey Deaver

Opening Survey!1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
---> Cairns in Queensland, Australia

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
---> Pizza, Tim Tams
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
---> 5th Dewey's Readathon (I think). I use RaT to finish books that I've had going for too long, not to start new ones (although I do that too)
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
---> I'm getting better at the reading/social media balance. I'm going to try to keep going with more reading, less computer.
Wow you're doing so well. No wonder you need coffee if its 4am!Enjoy Harry Potter, that's one to keep the momentum going!
I have been feeling really good all night and reading well, but now at 8am I am suddenly very tired!I think another coffee is in order. It will be my third in the 11 hours so far... Not too bad
Mid-readathon survey1. What are you reading right now?
---> A mixture of all the books on my list above; physical, kindle and audio
2. How many books have you read so far?
---> I've read/listened to part of 5 books. All were started before Readathon. I don't think I'll finish any of them, but I am making good progress on some big tomes that I have had going for ages.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
---> Just being able to relax and do it
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
---> No interruptions other that things like showering, preparing food etc
5. What surprises you most about the Readathon so far?
---> I read all night from 10pm and was still feeling really fresh until about 9am (then I hit a wall!)
You're doing great, Emma! I haven't tried switching between my books on the hours, that's a good strategy

It's 7pm here. 3 hours to go. Starting to feel a bit shattered. Have moved to the bedroom for the run to the end.I hope everyone else is hanging in there, or has enjoyed doing however much they have done :-)
And just like that, readathon is done for another season!Pages read: 452
Listening time: 5h, 45m
Total time reading/listening: 17 hours, 10 minutes + social media time
Sleep: 8:30am-9:30am (approx 1 hours total)
I didn't finish any of my books, but I knew that I wouldn't. I put some huge dents in some big books that I have had going for ages though, and I am very happy with that!
Thanks to all who put so much time and effort into organising RaT! As always, an awesome event :-)
Closing SurveyHow would you assess your reading overall?
---> Very happy with how it went
Did you have a stategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
---> Try and read for 45-50 minutes of each hour. Mostly stuck to it
What was your favorite snack?
---> Pizza and tim tams
Wanna volunteer for our next event?
---> I'd be a useless host. I'm completely antisocial. But I truly appreciate all that others do!
Thank you so much for organising such a smooth, well-run, fun event!
Only just getting myself sorted for Reverse Read-a-thon! I don't think I'm going to try for the full 24 hours this time (I usually do) as I've been on night-shift so am already sleep deprived. Pushing it with a full 24-hr RaT would probably just score me a migraine. As usual, it will start out being more about finishing books than starting them!

Here is my opening survey:1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Queensland, Australia
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
All of them! Looking forward to finishing some that I have had on the go.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Cookies!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I have been working night-shifts lately so my body clock is already screwed. It will be interesting to see if this helps or hinders readathon
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today?
I don't love reverse readathons. Here in Australia it means doing the dark hours near the end instead of at the start. I'll probably try to get some sleep, which I don't usually do
Mid-Event Survey:1. What are you reading right now?
About to go to bed with audiobook of 'Ruin and Rising' by Leigh Bardugo
2. How many books have you read so far?
Finished two that I had started before readathon. Have read part of two or three others
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
Interested in seeing what 'The Handmaid's Tale' is like
4. Have you had many interruptions?
No significant interruptions
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
That we are already half-way through. Sad that I have to get some sleep this time, but I am already tired from a week of nightshift and I don't want to push my body too far

Definitely be kind to yourself! Sleep when you need to! The Handmaid's Tale is wild. I still need to read the sequel, The Testaments.
Wow! I can't believe we're into the last hour!I slept this time, which is different for me so I suppose it has felt a bit more casual than normal. Time to go and enjoy the last 45 minutes...
Closing SurveyHow would you assess your reading overall?
Not as much as normal because I slept for 8 hours and I don't usually, but good for the time I was awake
Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
Same as normal, finish some books that I have had going for a while. Finished two. I knew I would need to sleep this time, and although I considered pushing through, I'm glad I didn't
What was your favorite snack?
Cookies and coffee

Thanks, I hope you have a good readathon too.
Yes, first time. I've only read Salem's Lot and Carrie before. I think I'll keep it for the daylight hours...

Great job, Emma! Your hourly stats are impressive, I just don't have the organization or dedication to be that thorough! lol. Are you enjoying The Shining? It's so good! I would've read it at night to keep me awake. ;) But I tried reading IT at night and I still fell asleep. lol
