Sarah (redwolftamer) | 14 comments I found this book at my school's library back in fourth or fifth grade so about 1996-97. It was about a boy who visits a park with a King Arthur theme but I don't remember if it was specifically a theme park or a temporary Renaissance fair. I think I remember he was there as a special guest as his dad knew the owners or something. Anyway while exploring the park he uncovers a counterfeiting ring (don't remember if they were counterfeiting real money or the park currency or both) and then the rest of the story is him solving the mystery of who's behind it.

It was a hardcover book, about 100 pages give or take and the cover had a wrap-around art of the boy in like a dungeon corridor with torches on the walls. There was no dust jacket, the art was on the cover itself. I want to say it could have come out at any point between the late 70s and when I found it in the mid-90s. I remember what area the book was in my school's library, which would make the author's last name somewhere in the middle/second half of the alphabet.

Thanks in advance for your help, googling is turning up bupkis.

I'm like 99% sure it wasn't a Hardy Boys book, but thank you!

Rainbowheart | 28668 comments No worries. The only other one I could find at a medieval fair was The Mystery of the Clumsy Juggler, but I don't think it involves counterfeiting.

Yeah, there was no religious themes either.

Rainbowheart | 28668 comments Milady Alex! also has a Renaissance fair, but no counterfeiting.

Sarah (redwolftamer) | 14 comments As far as I can remember it wasn't part of a mainline series. Like the kid acted like an Encyclopedia Brown, so it could have been a series, but the story stood on it's own and it definitely wasn't an Encyclopedia Brown book.
