The griffins of MFOW like to file into groups, these groups are known as flocks and they can consist of many seperate families. Usually the flock leader is also the creator of the flock, but flock leaders can change with time. Sometimes, when an old flock leader retires, that flock leader's offspring assumes position to lead. If the offspring is unfit to lead, the flock will choose the most powerful warrior in their ranks.

There can be an endless number of flocks within Torborg but, there are always at any given moment, at least 10 territory leaders. These leaders run over a much larger territory size than a regular flock but, they can allow other sub-flocks to be formed within their territory. Think of it much like a land-lord where, once a month, a flock might have to prove their loyalty to the territory leader. This is not always, however, as some territory leaders are more lenient than others.
The flock leaders are required to visit Yggdrasil during the Great Yule Celebration but the flocks under him/her are not. The Great Yule Celebration is not only to celebrate a new year but, the discussion of territory between the leaders. Many wars have started during Yule.

Flocks all have to look up to their respective territory leaders. Some territory leaders are incredibly lenient and allow you to live on their territory without even having to ask. Others, however, can be quite the opposite. Some flocks may even need to visit their territory leader via roleplay to ensure/establish loyalty. Not all territory leaders are like this, and most aren't, but this is something one who is wishing to create a flock needs to pay attention to.
If you want your flock to live in a specific area, you as the flock creator need to look into that territory leader's requirements.

Flocks can live in all sorts of different locations. Some live in the highest peaks of trees and some live in the darkest caves. This all depends on what the flock creator wants and if the flock's territory leader approves.

Flocks can be fought over and territory leader positions can be challenged. If the plot were to lead towards your character losing their flock, than so be it. Please be mature about it, this is a realistic simulation of territory. If you created a flock, that flock will always be under your dictation. Your character may not lead your flock, but you still have first say over what your flock does, what they compete in, and the plots they're involved in.

Flocks can be created as long as they have 5 members to control 5 characters, not including the creator's characters. Also, they will need at least one character who's old enough to run the flock. Flock creation is a simple process and can be done in the Creating a Flock thread.
