There are two cold cases involving missing girls in Case Histories (fiction).

Real Murders (not totally sure this is one, but it came to mind.)
Grave Sight this is a series. The MC is able to "feel" bodies in the ground as a result of a lightning strike that she survived. I'm not totally sure how many of the 4 books in the series have your theme, but I know that the last one has them solving the central mystery of the MC and her adopted brother/manager/husband/protector.
The Julius House this one has the MC solving the disappearance (and murder) of an entire family that happened years earlier.
