Welcome back, Esther. I'm so sorry about your mom and hope she's doing well.

What's the name of the book you were reading? I'll be happy to add it.

Would How to Be a Bawse: A Guide to Conquering Life count as a book written by a celebrity?

Casceil | 2728 comments I realized last night that the book I've been reading fits. The task is 2018, A book set in the decade you were born. The book is My Brother Michael. I started reading it during the toppler for a different category, but I set it aside to read another book. After the toppler I picked it up again. I was born in the 1950's, and I discovered last night the book is copyright 1959.

I love when that happens! And Mary Stewart is one of my favorite authors. I was so happy when many of her books became available as ebooks. I bought as soon as I could.

Lanelle | 4019 comments I finished my assigned task and I have reported it on the correct thread. I like another, please. Can I have 2018 - a book about or involving a sport?
I will read Soar by Joan Bauer .

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments Getting harder, for sure.

I just read about a genre I’ve never heard of: Speculative Fiction, so I’m going to read The City & the City for that and get in on this month’s group read, too.

Lilisa, I'm putting you down for The Monster of Florence - 2018 true crime. I figured you'd still want it, since you were already listening to it.

Do you have something else you'd like to read?

I finished that before the toppler and have not entered my notes yet. I've kept the book for reference until I do. I'll probably have to read parts of it again to figure out what my notes mean!☻

Let me know where to fill in.☻

message 82: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19139 comments I’m doing the 2018 challenge separately, Almeta. I’ve written down several books I’ve seen others reading and even taken a few pics of book covers/spines when I couldn’t get a good look so I could zoom in later. Fortunately, no one has caught me being sneaky because that would be awkward to explain. Lol

message 83: by Debra (new)

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments Lilisa, you're all set.

Almeta, will keep you in mind when things get sketchy.

Any of the In Death series would have qualified. I had Loyalty in Death earmarked for that task if I'd had enough time.
