Kristie | 19136 comments Hi all! This is the thread where we can finish off the leftover tasks from the Popsugar toppler. We had 43 tasks left. Debra has offered to keep track of the tasks for everyone. Please post in this thread to choose tasks and report reads.

Debra, please go ahead and reserve a couple of spots for whatever you need for organizing and keeping track.

Wrapping Up Popsugar Reporting Thread

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments Hi all!

We'll fill the remaining tasks first with ONE task you were already assigned, and have leftover from the Toppler. Then we'll give the remaining members time to select a task, before opening it up for everyone.

So, the gist is, please limit your task requests to one per person, at first. This way everyone will get a chance to read one with us. Thanks!

The same rules apply to page length, etc., which were outlined by Kristie for the Toppler.

I've created a Reporting Thread for us, to help me keep track of completed tasks/books. When you complete a book, (and if you've already completed one) please go here to report it: Wrapping Up Popsugar Reporting Thread

NOVEMBER 30TH IS THE DEADLINE!

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments I had one task reserved for the Toppler and didn't complete it, so I'll be adding my book to the list above. Anyone else have leftover tasks they want to complete? Let me know your books, if so. Thanks!

message 6: by Jannene (last edited Oct 14, 2018 09:33AM) (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments I had this one that I almost have finished.

2017 A bestseller from a genre (horror) you don’t normally read and am reading Red Dragon

message 7: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments I finished the book Red Dragon. It was a good book but creepy and sad.

message 8: by Lanelle (last edited Nov 06, 2018 09:19AM) (new)

Lanelle | 4020 comments Debra, thank you for taking on this assignment. I look forward to completing the Popsugar challenges.

I finished all the tasks that I had asked for during the Toppler.

(view spoiler)

message 9: by Fiona (new)

Fiona (fiiicoooo) | 270 comments I’d like to take my leftover tasks
2017 a book from someone you admire - The girl who loved Tom Gordon
And
2018 true Crime - Zerschunden :)

message 10: by Jannene (new)

Jannene | 3124 comments I also want to reiterate what Lanelle said and thank you. Let us know when we can sign up for new tasks.

message 11: by Claire (new)

Claire | 332 comments I’d like to read for 2017 a book set in 2 time periods

message 12: by Carol (new)

Carol (carolfromnc) | 401 comments I'd like to finish a task I started, 2017, a book written by a person of color. My book is In Our Mad and Furious City by Guy Gunaratne.

I'd also love to have the task, 2015, a book you own but have never read. I will read Crampton Hodnet by Barbara Pym.

message 13: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19136 comments Thanks for keeping track of this, Debra!

I'm still reading My Real Name Is Hanna and it fits better in 2017 A book with a title that’s a character’s name than where it was originally.

If you're taking new tasks, I'll take the 2018 Your favorite prompt from the 2015, 2016, or 2017 Popsugar Reading Challenges for audiobook, as I just started City of Thieves, unless you think it fits somewhere else.

message 14: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19136 comments Debra, I'm going to delete the tasks from my first post, now that you've added them, so they don't cause any confusion with someone looking at the wrong list.

message 15: by Roz (new)

Roz | 4528 comments I put down myself for 2016: an autobiography. I'm going upstairs to iron and finish listening to it.

message 16: by Lori Z (new)

Lori Z | 2086 comments I finished the book Trouble in Mudbug today, that I started during the toppler for 2015, a book you own but never read.

message 17: by Roz (new)

Roz | 4528 comments I finished The Rules Do Not Apply for 2016: an autobiography. 3 stars.

message 18: by Lilisa (new)

Lilisa | 2770 comments I could kill off two if they're not leftover tasks for others.

2018 - true crime - I'm listening to The Monster of Florence and 2018 - a novel based on a real person - just finished The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

message 19: by Lilisa (new)

Lilisa | 2770 comments Also 2017 - A book with a month or day of the week in the title as I'm planning to read The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August for the zodiac challenge.

message 20: by Roz (new)

Roz | 4528 comments If no one is reading 2015 a book with a color in the title, I started reading White Rose, Black Forest.

message 21: by Lilisa (new)

I'm editing my last message.

Lanelle, are you offering to complete all those tasks, Lanelle? I'd like to limit things until everyone has had an opportunity to ask for one task. Please let me know which one task you'd like to request.

Thanks, you amazing Amazon Woman Reader!

Fiona, could you pick one task for now? If no one takes your second one, we can add it later. I'd like to give everyone an opportunity to select one task, and we only have a few to fill. Thanks!

I'll put you down for your first request: 2017, a book written by a person of color - In Our Mad and Furious City.

Please hold your second until I let you all know. I'm trying to leave things open for other folks to request tasks, too.

I put you down for My Real Name Is Hanna. I'd appreciate if you'd give us a little bit of time to see what tasks other people want before requesting more, so everyone gets a chance to pick one task. Thanks!

Congrats, ladies!

I'm guessing this won't be a problem. I'd just like to wait a few to see if anyone else chimes in, so they have a chance to select at least one task.

message 34: by Debra (last edited Oct 15, 2018 01:52AM) (new)

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments I believe I've updated ONE task per person, and/or replied to each person's messages, to here.

I'm just waiting to hear back and which ONE task each person wants. Let's wait until noon EST on Tuesday, the 16th, for others to find there way here and make their requests.

*** Do we want to set an end date for this? What's everyone's thoughts on that?

How about December 15 - that's two months or if folks like reading over the holidays - December 31? I prefer December 15 as we'll probably be madly figuring out the 2019 yearly challenge that Janice will unveil for us.

message 44: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4020 comments Debra wrote: "...are you offering to complete all those tasks, Lanelle?"

No, that's just my gophering. Can I have 2018 - a book about a villain or antihero? I'll read Artemis Fowl.

As for an end date, how about December 31st?

message 45: by Valerie (new)

Valerie I can finish my political memoir I was going to read last week for 2016. It's called The Audacity of Hope, I'll post a link later if needed but I'm on my phone right now.

message 46: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19136 comments I will suggest November 30th the latest as an end date. We have a new toppler starting in December and these threads may get confusing having a toppler running at the same time.

message 47: by Debra (new)

Debra (debra_t) | 6542 comments I've updated the list up to here. Please check to make sure the link I used is for the correct for your book, each of you. Thanks!

Everyone: Let's go with November 30th, as Kristie wisely suggested!
