SOLVED. Children’s Mystery book that came in the mail. [s]

So it was around 2007ish I got this book in the mail for who knows what reason. I know I wasn’t the only one I think my cousin or a friend might have got it too. It was clearly something that they were trying to get you hooked on so you would convince your parents to send them money and they’d send you more books. From what I remember it was about a girl or a group of girls who solve a mystery. I think it might have ended on a cliff hanger (so you would convince your parents to send away for more books). I know I would recognize the cover if I saw it but for the life of me I can’t remember what it looked like to describe it.

So basically it came in the mail unsolicited? Or did you have to send away for it?

Reminds me of those summer book clubs you could sign up for through Scholastic, and they'd send you books every month.

Unsolicited, though? That makes me think of evangelism of some type. Rebecca, were these religious books?

Hidden in Plain Sight (book 1) or Danger After Dark (book 2) by Ellie McDonald, maybe? It's published by Creative Girls Club and the company apparantly mailed out promotional packages that included these books. (I believe they also did this with a fantasy series, the first book of which was Wellspring of Magic.)
