So about four years ago like in 2014 i read what i think was a trilogy about girls who would hit a certain age and turn into werewolves. I dont remember a whole lot except that in the second or third one (and i know it says no spoilers but i cant really remember anything else) one of the girls doesnt end up turning into one. They were mostly about their experience turning into a werewolf and finding their mate. It was a family gene you would get and i dont think you could get it from being bit or scratched. I remember the books also being super descriptive about them feeling changes days prior to them turning. Like they would notice things falling on their skin that normal people couldnt feel and smell things differently.

Reminds me of a book that I read... Claire de Lune, by Christine Johnson. Does that sound right?

There's Alpha by Regan Ure(?). But from memory, the boys shift in their teens... The girls change (speed strength scent etc), but have to wait to find their mate and have sex with them before they actually can shift. The h didn't know what was going on cause her parents died when she was a baby, but felt she had to move to a more forested area once the changes began... smack into werewolf territory central.
