The book I am reading now fills lots of challenges but so far is starting with the main character drugging and raping her ex-husband.
Suzanne, I'll read The Good People by Hannah Kent for the Australian Born task.Letter R for a Nancy Roche, a character
Also, finished

I made cloth book covers for them to use when I took them out of the house because the covers embarrassed me!! Now I don't care. Let people see and think I'm weird. A few months ago I found myself trying to explain the premise of the cozy mystery to a Vietnamese nail tech in a salon! She wanted to know why I was laughing at a book that had murder in the title. Her reading tastes run towards history, biography and self help. So you just never know.... 😆
Good for you, Lauri. One of the good things about getting older for me is being comfortable about just being yourself. Finished for MPG Presents -word as genre
Letters: S T N
On spreadsheet.
Finished this one as well.
176 pages kindle. Letters: P S N T
on spreadsheet.
Mini - No 34 ornament on cover.
I take full credit for messing with the spreadsheet if something is wrong but the totals on the bottom were still set for reindeer and I added a column for the mini challenge so it wasn't in the S column.

No worries. Thanks Lexi.
I've had a crazy busy weekend, compounded by it being the first of the month which means lots of things need to happen in mod world here.
Hopefully I'll get on top of everything tomorrow!

I just wanted to mention that if anyone wants one of my tasks because it fits a book you're reading, please speak up. If I haven't started that one already, I'd be happy to switch you and read something for another task!
I finished this one this morning
250 pg
Letters: P-R-E-T
It works for # 21.Read a book that has the number 25 in the page count. ( numbers may not be reversed) (10 points)
There was no room by my block of books, so i put it at the bottom of the spreadsheet
Added two finished books to the spreadsheet.
for ESNT and 8 in the number of pages
for PRST and the top hat on cover
My current book just had a birth! Right now it is slated for "character has one of the top 50 dog names in Australia" - but that seems like an easier task, since names like Jack, etc. are on there. Should I move it to birth instead?

That may be a good idea. I think you're right that the names may be easier to find

I think there is a task about a body of water on the cover? I’m on my phone so I can’t check but I seem to remember something about that. I’ll look in the morning or Suzanne may be on tonight to have a looksie 😉

yes there is. 11. Grab your togs and go for a swim. Read a book with a body of water on the cover (e.g. pool, lake, ocean etc.) (40 points)
are we still reading for PRESENTS as well? Do we double dip as read for both the mini-challenge and the main challenge with 1 book?
Great!
Yes that’s right chava. We just can’t use them for the mini challenge and the word bonus’s (e.g word as mpg) but we can ONLY use books for the mini challenge that also fit the spell it out

Allison Ann, I had moved my book from dog name to birth. Religious was indeed open. Sorry I grouped those in the post! Although I'd never mind moving one of my books :)

Just wanted to give you as many options as possible. I finished the religious book and added it to the spreadsheet. I'm still chipping away at my non-fiction book for green on cover, but I need another to read in tandem. Does this look like it would work for black boots? On the paperback the riding boots are a lot more obvious, but they are hard to see on GR.
Mini challenge update
Here are the open tasks. Although I do have the BOM against "8. Read a book where Hanukkah is celebrated" ; at the moment it has only been a reference and no celebration. So that one may need to be swapped out for #37. I'll try and finish the book today to see if I'm wrong

Okay, I'm going to read that one next. I also found books for snow, belt, stray, dog on cover and I'm still looking for BBQ. :) But I will read one at a time as needed.

I consider that Hanukkah is celebrated in "What the Hell Have You Done" if you haven't got there yet.
I felt like it was too - it wasn't the whole 8 day celebration, but it was a celebration! And made me want Latkes. And...I have never had apple pie with cheese. Is it really as good as the story said?
Thanks Lexi & Suzanne - good to know! I did the google book preview but it didn’t show anything so I’m glad you guys have read ahead 😉

Latkes and donuts however...yeah they are sitting here right next to me :)
Hanukkah sameach (aka happy hanukkah) :)
Finished a couple of books. I should finish another one today. I know I have one to cover #19, I am looking at it right now.

1. Make a door by reading a book of 201 pages or less (10 points)
I finished The Sign of Four for Four in the title, and I'm now moving on to a book with snow on the cover (#37)
I should finish my audio of
(only shoes and boots on cover) today or tomorrow morning. Audio books seem to be kind of the go-to thing at the moment with work (although I'm on track to finish the others I've claimed). Anyway, I did find
that I can do on audio if nobody has found a bbq one they want to do yet. I'm ok not claiming any more books too - I don't want to be a task hog!
I finished
for Read a book with gloves on the cover. Going to finish off the next one on my list. Also, has anyone claimed #17. Read a book with a dog on the cover? If not, I have one that will work for it.

Go for it Suzanne! I did look for a BBQ one and hadn't had any luck.
