I plan on reading The Angel Maker, that's as spooky as it's gonna get this month for me (really have to clear those dust bunnies before the end of the year)...
Hi guys, I've moved this thread to the Let's Chat folder so you can continue your discussion. You can take a look at the buddy reads and take part in any that take your fancy. If there is another book you'd like to read, head over to the Buddy Reads sign up post and if two or more people say they're interested, we can set up a thread for you :)
I just finished Dead Man's Folly: A Hercule Poirot Mystery, and I'm currently reading Dare to Be Scared: Thirteen Stories to Chill and Thrill. Also on my TBR for this month is The Halloween Tree.
I'm planning to reread Peter Straub's Ghost Story this month. I was a kid when it came out and it scared me to death. I'm sure I'll have it together this time.
I can't recall ever reading a book that spooked me (granted, I usually don't read those kind of books either). I love books more than movies and yet when it comes to scary, books have yet to work on me. The only book series that I can think of that might have made me shiver a little is the manga series "Ghost Hunt." And I ruined it for myself watching the anime first so I knew what was coming and a lot of the disturbing creepiness was lost on me. And maybe that doesn't count either because it is basically a "picture book" so it's kind of like a movie anyway. Lol
Since it's October I better get around to finally reading Frankenstein. Not sure how "spooky" it will be!
