I finished. I really liked it. I liked the ending (yes, I read the coda!). I wasn’t expecting it. This was such a fun book.

I'm at 31% but so far this is vastly different from The Suicide Motor Club. I like this one better. SMC is way more violent if I remember correctly.

I guess in a way it is more violent (maybe you might think differently later) but it was written very differently. Different types of vampires and different kind of humor.

I was thinking the same thing, that I might like this one a little better.

At this point I'm not sure which one I like better, I absolutely loved SMC so it's going to be hard for this one to surpass it but it's very, very close at the moment! The tone is much different in this book, from what I remember.

Yesterday I did a movie marathon in btwn cleaning around the house so I didn't read any. I'm reading now though and plan on finishing it today, I'll be updating as I read! I know you guys are done but I'll use spoilers just in case someone else joins the thread:

I just finished the chapter "The Raccoon and the Van" (view spoiler)[I know the whole book is creepy but this one stuck out as extra creepy, with their set up by the alley to grab people. And then when they killed that drunk man... omg! Poor Cvetko, getting his hand cut off and losing his ring. I like Cvetko so I feel really bad for him :( Also, so much tension & disagreement btwn the vampires. Not good! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Cvetko is definitely becoming my favorite character now. I like that he's challenging Joey Peacock to think more. I like their interactions with the kid vampires too. Not entirely sure what to think about the kids yet; at first I was scared of them, but now I have some sympathy, although I'm still worried they're going to do something fucked up to Joey and the others. the velvet rope chapter - what a ride! i love it when the title of the book works its way into the dialogue or story though:

okay a LOT of shit has happened in the last 50 or so pages, damn.

first, i'm back to being creeped out and angry at the kids. esp after the message on the wall being discovered don't trust the children CREEEEPY!!!

the scene where Joey had to kill the Baker kid was crazy. really gross, and i was anxious over him getting caught even though i knew he could likely charm his way out of the situation.

and then everything that happened at the meeting, where those two men got killed... so much decapitation lol. i like how there is some dark humor in this book, like: <"Baldy's dead hand was waving in the air, like Help me I'm headless, but everybody was more interested in the wall."
