Happy October, y'all!

This week I'm reading The Fall by May Archer and Honeymoon for One by Kiera Andrews.

Irisheyes | 896 comments Read Kylie Scott's novella Strong, Martha and Sam's story from her Stage Dive series. I liked it. I liked revisiting the whole crew. As usual, Mal was hilarious.

About 4-5 chapters in on RaeAnne Thayne's Season of Wonder. I'm liking it a lot. I love her voice and characterizations.

After reading DLS run down the list of new releases last week, I purchased Kelly Bowen's newest. So, I think that will be next on my list. I was out of it all last week - Real Life swooped in and halted my reading for quite a while. Looking forward to catching up.

I read Charles Todd's latest Bess Crawford book A Forgotten Place which advanced Bess's personal life not at all but the mystery was interesting.

Now I'm finishing The Kiss Quotient which I'd put aside a few weeks ago because I was in the wrong mood for it.

Chocolatesoup | 398 comments Thanks for the tip, I just signed up for Eve Dangerfield's newsletter. I just finished Melt for You by J.T. Geissinger, it's the 2nd in her slow burn series & a complete stand alone. Slow burn is my jam :D. Next up is Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating and The Governess Game

Eve Dangerfield is one of my favourite Aussie authors.

I can't remember which one had the Scottish hero but I LOVED that one from J.T. Geissinger. I listened to it on Audible and it was very entertaining.

I've read mixed reactions on The Governess Game and really good things about Josh and Hazel. Can you please come back and let us know what you think?

Chocolatesoup | 398 comments The Scottish hero was in Melt For You, the one I just read. I LOL'd throughout the book.

I will let you know about the other books but I really tend to enjoy those authors, so I have high expectations :D

I thought the Governess Game was pleasant but I was not in love with it the way I have felt about other books by Dare.

That's what I heard. I also heard that it was a wee bit too unrealistic.

Leigh-Ayn | 1214 comments I enjoyed the Governess Game but I preferred the Duchess Deal.
I don’t really mind if it’s not realistic as I’m reading to escape reality lol 😂 but everyone is different. The heroine was brought up differently so has different ideas and is more open minded about things.

To be honest, I'm the same about escaping reality.

I loved the Duchess Deal.

Chocolatesoup | 398 comments I absolutely devoured and adored Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating, the characters were flawed but still so admirable, and while the book was emotional it never felt angsty. It was a rare cold and dreary day here in Colorado so other than a little bit of housework and running a couple of errands with my sweet middle child, I mainly read my book :-)

Awesome, thanks for that. Might have to add it to my ever-growing to be read list. ;-)

Fully agree! It was almost flippant? I didn't think much of the hero, tbh.
