ABANDONED. Family moves into house, children get stuck in three books. Fantasy/ fiction/ young aduls.

I read a book a few months ago in november 2017 when i stayed in california for a week . I cant remeber the title or author and the cover is vague in my memory. Its in english and its imnot old but not new ( id guess somewhere from 2008-16) The book is a bout a family, parents and three children, that move into a house that used to be owned by an author. The children decide to explore the house and thyey find the library of the author and something happens that they get stuck in three of the authors books ( as in theyre in place where all three stories are combined. Spoilers——————- one of the stories is about a ww2 pilot and one of the kids gives him his psp and he uses it, the sister also starts falling for the pilot.
The authors daughter, who turned into a witch, is also in that world and she is searching a for a book in which you write something and it comes true. But it can only be found if you do sometging selfish. So the witch tries to convince each of the children one by one to get the book for her, since she cant touch it cause her father put a spell on it that everytime she gets close to it, it dissapears. Theres also a chapter where they go to a pirate ship, and the captains quarters are lined with bones. Thats all i can remember, i hope someone can help, i really liked that book.
