I was wondering if you would accept to read a poetry book? The genre is realistic fiction. Thanks!

Realistic fiction is fine, but is it an actual story, like a collection of short stories or is it a collection of poems? Because I actually do not work with poetry.

Also, by read, do you mean line edit, developmental edit, or critique? If you click on the link to my website, you'll see all three explained under the Services tab.

asbah (asbahreads) | 5 comments It is a collection of poems. And I was referring to line editing and just general proofreading. Just let me know if you might be able to do poetry, but it’s no problem if you don’t! Thanks for the service anyways :)

Ah okay, yeah sorry, I don't work with poetry or provide proofreading. Thanks anyway for your interest, though. :)

I might be able to help. Could you be more specific? What kind of novel is it? What do you need in terms of editing? I think for the first chapter of a presumably unfinished novel, a developmental edit would not be very helpful. So, are you looking for a line edit?

Because you said "look at," I could just critique it for you, if that's more of what you're looking for. A critique is a review of story, character, and prose - detailing what works and what doesn't. But I don't change anything. I just read it, then write up a summary of things that stood out for better and worse and try to provide helpful tips for improvement.
