Finished. Review on home page. Enjoyed this, but it felt like a filler and I didn't enjoy the messing-about with the dynamic between Audrey and Thomas. However, I'm looking forward to part four.

At first I didn't know the name of the narrator but I found out that her name is Audrey Rose and Thomas calls her wadsworth. What I understand so far, there is a ship with a lot of people. A carnival performance which has been done twice and those times people have died (2 ladies precisely, Miss Prescott 18yrs, Dr Arden daughter and of course one Elizabeth is presumed missing). Audrey is a scientist and trying to solve the murders with her boyfriend and uncle. Also her niece which she presume missing is on the ship. There is the emcee of the carnival with a long name that talked about cards (hide spoiler)]

So when you get done with this one, you should totally read the first two as it will make more sense with the relationship between Thomas and Audrey. What can I say???, I am little bit thrilled. Why are the deaths so horrible?
(view spoiler)[ as many details I can remember,Liza is forbidden by her uncle to perform on stage though Audrey begged for one last performance. Mehistopheles (yes I remember the ringmaster name), shady as ever, enters a bargain with Audrey and I think Audrey blinded agreed.

(view spoiler)[ I think things worked out well in the end and I did grow to like Mephistopheles quite a bit. I am so glad that her bargain with him did not ruin things with Thomas in the end though, as I ship them so hard <3

A lot of people say this is the worst of the series.. I'm guessing the disconnect between Audrey Rose and Thomas is a big part of that as I did truly miss their banter and budding love. But the part of me that got into this series for a good mystery and not a romance really enjoyed the heavy focus on the murders here. Also, I love magic so this setting was perfection!
