Rolfe, the Pirate Lord from the first novella, returns and ultimately joins forces with Aelin despite the animosity between them. What did you think of their interactions and Aelin's manipulation of him and his people, the Mycenians?

Rolfe isn't stupid. He knows teaming up with Aelin is his best chance to get what he wants from the war. Aelin has a tendency to go a bit overboard with some of her plans. It's as if she doesn't think through to the end point. Although her manipulation worked, I didn't agree with it. There were too many innocent people around.
Yes, it bothered me that Aelin was willing to sacrifice people. The ends justify the means approach is very problematic, but then she used to be an assassin...I always liked Rolfe's character and I'm glad that he joined forces with Aelin. I love how Maas is incorporating ancient civilizations into her narrative. The Mycenians fought the Trojans during the Trojan war.
