I'm a freelance editor with years of experience in developmental editing, beta reading, and critiquing. I approach stories with a sharp eye towards plot structure and character development, and as an editor I aim not only to point to the strengths and weaknesses of a story, but also to identify why certain elements are (or aren't working). My primary goal is to help writers get insight into their own work, so that they can revise in the direction that best suits the story that they want to tell.
I offer a variety of services, from professional critiques (.005/word) to developmental editing (.008-.01/word). Sample edits of the first 5000 words are available for a flat rate of $50, which can be rolled into the cost of a full edit if you decide that my services are a good fit for your book. I also offer critiques of query letters and synopses for $25/draft.
I am open to all genre fiction, with an emphasis on fantasy, sci-fi, horror, romance, YA, and MG, with a particular interest in books with diverse casts, especially books that feature queer and trans characters, and books with well-developed female leads (I'm happy to double as a sensitivity reader).
