I finished The Perfect Nanny for the 2017 - read a book by an author from a country never visited task. According to her bio in GR Leïla Slimani was born in Rabat, Morocco.I enjoyed the book, but didn't love it. I will give it 2.5-3 stars and write a short review.
Finished my last book for the Toppler, reading Norse Mythology for the task: 2017 - A book based on mythology
Finished 2016 - A book with a protagonist that has your occupationThe Homeschool Experiment: A Novel
Finished 32 Yolks: From My Mother's Table to Working the Line for read a book with a number for 2015. It was a great read - 5 stars!
Finished 2018- A book you borrowed or that was given to you as a gift - Murder in RetrospectI really enjoyed it! It's short (only 185 pages) and much more puzzle than plot, so maybe not for everyone, but I found it fascinating.
I just managed to squeak in my last read for the toppler: 2015 - a book by an author you’ve never read before - To Build a ShipThe story is about men driven by obsessive love - one man for a woman and another for a ship - and the consequences of the decisions they make. At times I was quite engaged in the story and at other times, not so much. The bits about the details of shipbuilding were quite snooze-worthy.
Nice job, everyone!!! I’ll update these soon. I know a few people said they’d be reporting late, so I’ll add those later too. I finished The Last Black Unicorn for the 2016 A book written by a comedian task.
I thought it was pretty funny. Tiffany Haddish definitely doesn’t hold back. She tells her story as she sees it and doesn’t care what you think. She doesn’t try to paint a prettier picture and it feels like she’s being real with you. She just tells it all in a funny way.
Finished on time, but couldn't get here to report until now, for 2017, a book involving travel, The Quiet American, which has most of the main characters traveling to Vietnam and also within Vietnam.
Finished 2018 A book about a problem facing society today (teen suicide) Thirteen Reasons Why 13 Oct
Finished Play for 2015 The Tempest and book that scared me The Siren and The Spectre. I'm on a ferry in the north sea so internets a bit patchy... Will be reading a lot tonight.. Arrive in Aberdeen in 12 hours time.
I finished A Million Junes for 2017 - A book with a title that’s a character’s name. I'd like to switch the book to 2016 - A book set in your home state. I was pleasantly surprised to find the book set in Michigan, and think this would be a harder task to fill than what I'd originally chosen. It was excellent! The writing is amazing; excellent dialogue and descriptive prose. The stuff being written for Young Adults these days blows my mind.
I finished Reel of Fortune for 2017 Bonus Level - A book with an eccentric character (all MCs were eccentric, especially Ida-Belle and Gertie).
The ladies get themselves in some tough spots, and through misadventure, luck, and skill, win the day.
Anything by this author is fun and exciting, including the Mudbug series. I've never been disappointed. Mudbug has some nice romance, too.
A book published this year (2015) - Penric's DemonGreat story and brilliant narration - 5 star
2015 book by a female author Thin Air*

Debra and anyone else interesting in trying to finish off the Popsugar tasks, I have started a thread here' https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...Please give Debra a chance to save a couple of spots, since she has offered to keep track for us before posting.
Thank you for starting the thread, Kristie. I was wondering how soon we'd start working on the rest of the tasks. I figured you'd give a week or so to recuperate from the Toppler :)

I quite enjoyed it, although not as much as I thought I would. I gave it a low 3 stars.
