He nodded and hugged her tight to him.

She smiled and kissed his shoulder.
He laughed at the thought of them fighting a crowd.
She suddenly frowned. "That back there reminded me of that happened at the camp."
"The guy ripped my shirt and felt up my skirt." She said in a small voice.
"You were there...remember?" She looked at him quizzically."The scarlets."
"Yes I remember" he said through gritted teeth.
"But I should have done something....maybe I'm I couldn't win a fight..."
"No you did just what you needed to"
"You mean let them violate me?" She muttered annoyingly.
"No" he replied "Thank god it didn't get that far"
"But you said I did what I had to do. All I did was cry and let him touch me." She frowned, tears in her eyes.
He sighed "what do you think you should have done?"
"Hit him. But he would have cut my throat.."
"I love you too." She hugged him back softly
"It's not your fault." She shook her head.
She nodding in understanding and kissed his cheek. "It's in the past now."
"Yes it is" he replied and hugged her.
She sighed again. "Ugh, more people to talk to."
"Can I stay in the wagon?" She pouted cutely.
"Thank you." She smiled sweetly and kissed his cheek.
He walked into the yard and up to the house. He knocked on the door and when a man answered he said "I hear you might have a cow for sale?" the man said he did and they went to the barn to check out the cow.
Lucy folded her hands into her lap and waited. A gust of wind moved her hair as she looked behind the wagon. A ghost of an old man was there. She sighed.
Jeff and the farmer agreed on a price and Jeff took a rope and led the cow toward the wagon.
Lucy looked away and tried to ignore him. She smiled when she saw Jeff and the cow.
Jeff walked to the wagon and tied the cow to the back.
"How much?" She asked, opening her coin purse.
"I traded some work I will do in the next week"
He climbed in the wagon and urged the horses for home.
"Are we stopping by your place?" She asked
