She smiled and kissed his shoulder.
Her body jerked a little side to side as they rode.
He looked down at her." you okay?"
"I've been better. But yes, I'm okay." She replied.
"Good" he replied and urged the horses on.
"Like what?" She asked in a small voice
" I don't know things just seem almost too good"
A few minutes later she noticed the town in the distance. It looked busy today with familiar faces.
He sighed as the town came into sight.
"Feel happy to be home? "She asked.
"Just things are diffrent better for me I hope everyone sees it that way"
She looked over at a tree they were passing. "Wait, stop."
He reined in the horses"what is it?"
She hopped off the wagon and took a parchment off the tree that was nailed to it.
"It's a picture of me....." She said quietly. "With the word 'missing' above it," she looked over at him.
He took the paper and looked at it. "what is it"
"A missing persons poster." She frowned.
She looked at the poster. "Hmm, Lucy Glynn, missing since two weeks ago. If found, award will be presented." She read. Her mothers name was scripted at the bottom.
"She was looking for me. All this time." She frowned.
She sighed and folded the poster and put it on her skirt pocket.
She nodded, not quite sure what to say.
"These are probably all over town." She said after a while,
He nodded "you think they will hang me as a kidnapper?"
She gasped and shook her head fiercely. "No! You're my fiancé." She said, taking his hand.
"Then I'll tell them." She huffed.
He nodded " I hope they believe you"
"But wouldn't they want to find mother once they find me? For the reward?"
