He took his hand and shook it, cocking his head to the side. "Sorry?" He said, not understanding him. Meanwhile outside, more people began to arrive.

"I was only joking" Jeff said laughing a little.
He shrugged and shoved his hands into the pockets of his dress pants. "How's lucy?"
"She is great" he replied smiling at Ben "but she need the elders"
Ben pursed his lips. "D-did something happen?" He asked.
Jeff shrugged "Nothing major" he said looking at Ben.
She nodded. "Alright then. Well, I assume you need a suit, no?"
He walked around the desk and pulled a book off the shelf, which opened like a door as a secret passage. "Right this way."
Jeff shook his head "looks dangerous to me"
"Relax man. It just leads upstairs. I figured you wouldn't want to cut through the ball room." He said, ducking into the passage way.
He smiled and sighed "okay lead the way" he said.
He climbed up the spiral steps and into a guest bedroom,
Jeff followed him the dark passage a little musty smelling.
"Ta da." He said, pointing at the tux on the bed.
Jeff made a face then walked over ti the tux "Thanks " he said.
Ben bowed and skipped back down the stairs.
Jeff changed into the tux then went out the normal bedroom door.
The sound of people downstairs in the ballroom echoed throughout the mansion.
Jeff decided that there was no time like the present to join the party.
Bed met him in the hallway and handed him a mask. "Masquerade." She smiled.
He took the mask and put it on his face.
Ben nudged his shoulder as they walked down the hall, putting on his own mask. "Come on, perk up."
"This is me being perky" he grumbled.
"What's got you so glum?" He asked.
"Just concerned" he replied "I will relax once I see Lucy, I promise"
"She will definitely be a sight to see." He said.
"She always is" he replied.(( bedtime) )
Jeff looked side long at Ben "you are very agreeable tonight" he commented.
He shrugged. "I'm just happy I suppose. I just found out my wife is expecting." He smiled.
"Congratulations" Jeff said clapping him on the shoulder.
He laughed and nodded. "Thank you. We've been trying for quite a while." He sighed.
Jeff nodded remembering Lucy's concern over the same thing.
"She's feeling very nervous." Ben told him.
"You wife?" he asked surprised "I thought she was a healer"
"I'm referring to lucy. I can sense her nervousness from all the way over here." He laughed. "But as for my wife, she's just dandy."
Jeff wished he could sense how Lucy was feeling. He looked across the room looking for her.
"She's not here yet. Still getting ready I suppose." He said, skipping down the grand stairs where the guests were all together on the large ballroom floor.
Jeff walked slowly down the stairs looking to see if there was anyone he knew there.
Ben leaned in close and whispered to Jeff. "Turn around." He said with a grin. Behind him, lucy was at the top of the stairs in her elegant gown that was tight in all the right places, squishing her breasts together to reveal her cleavage traditionally. Her hair was curled and knotted at the back of her head. White satin gloves covered her hands and to her elbows. She kept her head down.
Jeff looked at her and found it hard to catch his breath, even though she had a mask on it was obvious that it was her. Jeff could tell that most all the men were turning their eyes toward her and he had to fight the jealousy rising in him.
She tilted her head up and opened her eyes that darted around looking for Jeff. When she saw him, she sucked in a breath and folded her hands in front of her.
He smiled as their eyes met and he made his way toward her.
When she saw him move she started to descend the stairs slowly, holding up her dress so she wouldn't trip.
He waited at the bottom of the stairs for her.
She stopped once she was one step before the floor, standing just a few inches taller then Jeff. "Hi." She said softly, cheeks turning pink.
"Hey" he said back "You stole the room." he whispered and held out his hand to her.
"Oh..I'm sorry.." She trailed off, taking his hand gently.
