"We won't I brought a tent so we can stay in that if we need too"
"Ready then?" He asked her standing.
She nodded and tied on a bonnet on Caroline's head.
He opened the door with a sigh thinking how he would miss this small home they had lived in for such a short time.
"Can you promise me something?" She murmured, walking outside and turning to face him.
"Yes of course" he said turning to her.
"Promise me we'll come back one day." She murmured.
"We will" he said looking back at the house one more time before helping her and the baby into the wagon.
Lucy sat in the wagon with Caroline on her lap.
Jake mounted the wagon and took up the reins and whistled low for the horses to start.
Lucy jostled a little bit held on to Caroline who made cute noises.
Jeff smiled at his family as the pulled out onto the main trail.
Lucy kissed the top of Caroline's head and sighed softly.
"We can stop for lunch after we get through the next town" Jeff said his mind on the travels up ahead.
"It's only a three day ride there"
" cheer up" he said looking at her "I know you want to see Ben again"
"Of course I do. He saved our lives." She said.
"Yes he did and I think he can help us more"
She nodded and pressed her mouth against the top of Caroline's head.
He drove the horses looking at the landscape while he drove them.
Lucy looked around at the ground, noticing a dead rabbit. She bit her lip.
Jeff whistled a low tune glad to be moving toward a solution.
She looked away and looked down at Caroline as she began to make noises.
He glanced at them to make sure everything was alright.

She smiled a little over at him and sighed.
"You guys okay?" He asked " do you need a rest?"
"I'm okay. I think she's a little restless." She said.
