Jeff laughed at her and blew some more.

"Can you wash yourself and her up for dinner?" Lucy asked nicely.
"Try? It's not difficult." Lucy smirked.
"Easy for you to say" he replied as her picked up a wash cloth.
"I know" he replied and winked at her.
Lucy laughed and rolled her eyes as she prepared dinner, setting up the table.
Jeff cleaned himself and Caroline up for dinner.
Lucy prepared pasta with tomato sauce, buttered dinner rolls and sautéed vegetables for her and Jeff. For Caroline, lucy prepared a small bowl of noodles for her to stuff her face with.
Lucy took Caroline from him and sat her in her high chair and placed the bowl of pasta in front of her. Caroline grinned and dug her fist into it.
Jeff smiled and picked up his fork.
Lucy kissed the top of his head as she passed him and sat down.
Jeff ate the food and smiled in appreciation for how good his wife's cooking was.
Lucy took a few bites of her own food then helped Caroline with hers.
"this is great" Jeff said " I hope we can still have good meals from you on the road".
"If we have the proper ingredients." She smiled.
"I will make a note of that and be sure to pack"
Jeff winked at her " It's going to be great really it is"
"I hope so." She nodded and continued to eat.
" It will be as long as we are together."
" It will be as long as we are together."
She smiled and reached over and placed her hand on top of his.
He smiled and winked at her " I need to get some things ready."
"Finish your dinner first." She chastised.
Jeff smiled " not a problem" he to a few more quick bites and his plate was empty.
"Now wash your plate." She grinned.
He rolled his eyes and stood and washed his plate.
"Did I just see you role your eyes at me?" She tried to hide her smile.
" ummmmm not at all" he said smiling.
" What was that?" Jeff asked stepping in close to her.
Lucy glared at him and did it again.
He lifted a finger " are you getting smart with me?"
"I didn't think rolling my eyes was being smart with you." She said, a smile spreading across her lips.
" And just what do you think it is?" He asked stepping even closer to her.
He nodded "If you say so" he said rolling his eyes.
Jeff sighed " okay enough" he said and turned to get the wagon packed.
Lucy threw her head back and laughed.
" You win that one" he called over his shoulder.
"I always do." She called back and collected her empty dinner plate.
" Don't I know it " he mumbled under his breath.
Lucy washed her plate off and dried it with a cloth. She then picked up Caroline and pumped the water pump a few times, holding Caroline's little hands under the faucet.
Jeff loaded some feed for the horses in the wagon the considered what other things they would need.
Lucy carried Caroline upstairs, who was falling asleep against her chest.
Jeff finished what he could do then went to the house.
