"I'm not sure. The letter didn't say." She replied.
"We need to find him" he said pacing.
"He shouldn't be hiding. He has a new baby, like us, remember? He gave us his contact information." She said.
"We can't just show up there unexpected." She countered.
"I am sure he will understand" He replied.
Jake also nodded "I will find someone to care for the animals."
"When do you want to leave?" She asked.
Lucy studied him for a moment. "Alright." She murmured.
"Good" he said nodding."Its settled"
"Sure." She muttered, then sighed.
He smiled and turned to go to the neighbors to ask them to care for the animals.
Lucy stayed on the couch, staring dramatically off into space.
He walked quickly down the road a plan of action forming in his mind.
Lucy furrowed her brows and scratched the back of her neck again, that felt like it was burning.
Jake talked to the neighbor and returned home quickly to pack.
Lucy whimpered and drew back her hand that had blood on her fingers.
Jeff walked into the house and Lucy was still sitting in the same chair.
"Can you take a look at my neck? I'm bleeding." She stood up and turned her back to him.
He walked to her and moved her hair aside. "What happened?" he asked her.
"It's been itching all morning." She sighed. "Here, my blouse is in the way." She unbuttoned her blouse and shrugged it off her shoulders. Her neck was bleeding from a small cut. But if he looked closely, he'd see a thin black line underneath it, and trailing down her back, disappearing under her corset.
"It looks terrible" he replied getting a rag for the blood "And what is this?" he asked tracing the black line with his finger.
"What's what?" She asked, turning her head to see, but couldn't.
"It something um weird a black line running down your back"
"Oh?" She stepped away from him and closed the curtains over the windows. "Unlace me."
Jeff quickly unlaced her corset and waited for her to take it off.
Lucy slid it off and lowered the neckline of her underdress down over her shoulder blades. The line turned into plenty, still hidden from her dress and skirt.
" We need to go see a doctor" Jeff said as he saw her back.
"Wait," she picked up her corset and carried if upstairs. She quietly walked into their room where Caroline was sleeping. She stood in front of the mirror and pushed off her skirt.
Jeff followed unsure of what to do.
Lucy peeled off her underdress and stood with her back to the mirror, naked except for her undergarments. She moved her hair aside and looked back into the mirror. She gasped softly at the sight. Dark ink stained her skin and trailed down her back all the wat down to her spine in the shape of a leafless tree.((https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/...))
Jeff gasped and looked away quickly.
"What the...." Lucy muttered, and reached back to touch it.
Jeff moved forward his eyes locked on her back.
"Is...is that a tree?" She blinked, then looked at him.
""Why is it on my back?" She whispered.
"I have no idea" Jeff whispered as he looked at her back.
She sighed and traced it with her finger. "How did I get it,"
Lucy pouted and just stared at it.
" you know it's from your talent I think"
"Raising the dead can never, nor will it ever be a talent." She spat, pulling on her clothes.
