Lucy looked behind her as they wagon started to move. A man was leaning against a building, staring at her. She noticed he looked familiar. Slowly, she looked back forward.

He kept the horses at a steady pace until the reached the house.
Lucy held Caroline in arm and the bakery bag in the other, waiting for him to help her down.
Jeff jumped down and helped her down from the wagon.
She hopped down with his help and smiled, kissing his cheek. Caroline made random cute noises.
Jeff took the bags from her and walked with her into the house.
Lucy carried Caroline upstairs for her nap.
Jeff took the wagon to the barn to unload his things.
Lucy changed Caroline and rocked her to sleep, then laid her down in her crib.
Jeff unloaded the wagon and unhitched the horses.
Lucy strolled down to the living room and sat down on the touch and took the letter out from her pocket.
Jeff feed the horses and other animals before heading into the house.
She flipped the envelope over and ran her fingers over her name on it, scripted in fine font. "Hmmm..." She hummed.
Jeef walked to the house forgetting all about the envelope.
Once she saw him enter the room, she looked up. "Hand me the letter opener please?"
He grabbed the letter opener from the desk in the corner.
Lucy pursed her lips and studied the script as she waited.
"Well" Jeff asked his heart beating fast.
"I haven't opened it yet." She held out her hand, wanting the opener.
"No. I want the opener. You haven't given it to me." She replied.
She opened the letter with it, and sat it aside. She pulled out the letter and opened the fine paper.
Jeff went to the kitchen not wanting to wait while she read the letter.
Lucy sat up and leaned forward, rubbing her thumb along her bottom lip as she read the letter. When she was done, she stood up and dropped it to the floor.
Jeff's heart began to race " what do they want?"

She shook her head and covered her mouth.

Jeff bent over and picked up the letter reading it also.
"They invited me to a dinner. They claim it's strictly for business and that my father isn't there. There are apparently a group of the Scarlets that don't agree with my father. I guess they're rebelling." She explained, sitting down. "They said I could bring you and Caroline do show that they mean no harm."
Jeff shook his head "We are not going"
Lucy just nodded and stared at her lap.
"How did they find us?" he whispered.
"You see we have to go" He pleaded.
"But go where, Jeff?" Lucy threw her hands up.
"Away" he replied turning from her.
"How about south?" he said getting a little flustered.
"What's south of here?" She asked.
"We can find out together" He replied throwing up his arms.
Lucy sighed deeply and pinched the bridge of her nose. "That's not all the letter said." She murmured.
"What?" he asked looking back at the letter.
