In her sleep, Lucy called his name.

Jeff heard Lucy call out but didn't hear what she said. He stood at the bottom of the stairs and listened.
She called his name again, only more desperate.
He heard his name this time and rushed up the stairs.
She woke up slowly to the sound of heavy footsteps on the stairs, rubbing we groggy eyes and yawning.
"What did you need?" he asked when he reached the bed.
"You called me" he replied looking at her.
She propped herself up on her elbows. "I did?"
"Yes" he said nodding and looking at her concerned.
"Oh..." She whispered, not looking at him.
"You okay" he asked looking at her his mind wandering.
"No." She said truthfully, swinging her good leg off the bed and gently placing her injured one on the floor
He nodded "I know how you feel" he murmured.
Lucy ran a hand through her dirty hair. "God, I could use a bath."
"I think i say a tub in the shed out back" he offered.
"That sounds tempting. But I can't walk." She told him.
"Ummm that does present a problem" he said wondering what he could do.
"Maybe you could....carry me there?" She suggested in a small voice.
"I think it would be warmer in here, I think i should just bring it in here"
"Okay." She nodded, pulling off her boots.
He hurried to the shed and retrieved the tin tub and took it up to the room.
"Um....could you possibly...," she trialled off, blushing.
"Huh?" he asked "You need some water I will go get some."
He nodded "okay if you say so" he left to get her some water.
Lucy attempted to unbutton the back of dress, unsuccessfully.
Jeff returned a bucket of water from the well in his hands.
She only got one button off, blowing out an exaggerated breath of air.
He looked at her and raised an eyebrow his face turning red "Need help?"
"Yes. But I know you don't want to help me." She said
"I't not that" he replied walking over to her.
"Then what is it?" She asked, watching him walk over. Lucy planted her feet on the floor, still sitting on the bed.
"i don't know I'm not used to it I guess" he sat next to her and reached for the buttons on the back of her dress.
She straightened her back, her heart pounding.
Jeff unbuttoned the buttons as careful as he could his fingers barely brushing her skin.
She felt the heat from his hands as he unbuttoned her dress, shivering a little.
Jeff finished and stood to leave his fingers on fire from touching her.
She watched him leave, slipping her arms out of the sleeves.
He walked outside needing to cool off.
She stood up slowly, being carful about putting weight on her leg. She held onto the bed to keep her balance as she stepped out of her dressed and sat herself in the tub with a happy sigh.
Jeff paced around the yard exploring the yard while keeping an eye out on the forest.
Lucy inhaled deeply and sunk under the water, laying in the cool stillness for several minutes.
Jeff checked the shed for anything else that could be useful.
Lucy tried her best to wash her hair and body.
Lucy then realized she had nothing to dry off with.
Jeff expanded his search to the woods around the house. wondering who would put a skeleton in a chest under the house.
