"Well, it's been about five months since she was born. I think we've waited long enough. I just don't want to do it with her in the room." She giggled, kissing his forehead. "Unfortunately, her bedroom isn't finished yet. Right, contractor?" She teased.

He shrugged " I have been busy" he laid back on the bed and sighed up at the ceiling.
"I take that as a no then?" Lucy sighed.
"But you didn't say yes." She countered.
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Jeff replied looking at her.
Lucy giggled and patted his leg. "Tonight...let's go down to the creek. Bring some blankets." She smiled. "We'll be able to see the house from there at least, to make sure Caroline is okay."
"I hope so." She nodded. "I don't know any other way. I want you just as much as you want me." She whispered into his ear.
He smiled and stood gathering some blankets in his arms.
"It'll remind me of our first night together. Remember the tent?" She smiled, blushing.
Jeff smiled and kissed her forehead.
Lucy closed her eyes and sighed softly.
He took her hand and led her down the stairs.
Lucy grabbed a shawl on their way out, wrapping it around her shoulders. She cautiously looked back at Caroline's crib, biting her lip.
Lucy nodded. "I'm just worried about leaving her alone...."
"Maybe I can get a neighbour to watch her?" She suggested.
"No" Jeff replied "Lets just stay here just downstairs"
Lucy nodded and took the blankets from him, and walked into the living room. The sun had set, so the room was dark. She pushed the coffee table aside with her foot, then laid out the blankets on the floor. She then lit a few candles around the room until her shadow danced on the walls, the room dimly lit.
Lucy blew out a match and shook it around, then tossed it in the waste basket. "I hold its comfy..."
Lucy just nodded and threw some pillows on the blankets. She then crossed her arms and bit her lip, turning to face him.
Lucy rolled onto her side, facing him. She smiled shyly and buried her face in a pillow.
Jeff smiled back and gave out a long sigh.
Lucy sighed when she heard Caroline crying upstairs.
Jeff moaned and stood " I will get her"
"Are you sure?" Lucy asked, propping herself up on her elbows, gazing up at his naked form.
" I will at least try" he said pulling on his pants.
"Well, if she's hungry, just call for me." She said.
Their daughter seemed to wail louder upstairs.
Jeff ran up the stairs and scoped the baby in his arms and rocked her on his arms.
Lucy sat up and covered herself with the blankets. Their bedroom window was open.
Lucy walked upstairs to their bedroom, holding the blankets around herself. She stood in the doorway. "Is she okay?" She asked, then frowned, gazing at the window. "Did you open the window?"
"She is fine" Jeff said looking at the window.
Lucy walked over to the window and gazed outside. A movement in the trees caught her eye, but Jeff couldn't see what she saw.
"Then what did?" She shook her head and closed the window, then drew the curtains over it. "It's freezing. She must have gotten cold." Lucy patted over to him and took Caroline from him, cradling her against her naked chest, using the blanket to warm her.
"No. It's chilly at night." Lucy replied, rocking Caroline until she finally stopped crying. Lucy sighed and kissed the top of her head, then lowered her back in the crib. She draped a few blankets over her small form.
Jeff nodded trying to remain calm.
