He sat next to her "You did great hun"

"From what you heard?" She smirked.
"Thanks but I wasn't that great." She sighed.
"I almost gave up." She whispered.
"I couldn't do it. I almost stopped." She repeated.
She took the baby off her breast and pulled her nightgown back up.
He nodded "That sounds good to me"
"I'm terribly tired." She sighed, her voice breaking.
She nodded but didn't make a move to give her to him.
He stepped forward and held out his hands.
He took the little baby and rocked it in his arms.
Lucy laid back down on the bed and let out a soft whimper.
He bounced the baby and walked around the room.
He sat on the rocking chair and looked at Lucy.
Lucy was deep asleep, exhausted from what she just endured, not to mention sore as well. Her hair was matted and stuck to her forehead.
Lucy slept for the remainder of the night, and well into the morning.
Caroline was hungry and crying when he shook her awake.
She moaned and wiped her face on her pillow.
"Lucy she is hungry" Jeff whispered.
She sighed deeply and sat up in bed.
She took Caroline in her arms and smiled. "Hello baby girl."
Jeff stood and stretched his back.
She pulled down her nightgown and put Caroline on her breast.
Jeff sat in the chair and nodded off to sleep.
After a few minutes, and fixed her gown and shuffled out of bed with Caroline in her arms.
She carried Caroline over to the crib Jeff made for her and tucked her in gently and kissed her head.
Lucy walked over to Jeff and sat on his lap.
He stirred and looked up at her."Hey babe"
