"What time is it?" She asked softly.

She nodded. "I'll make us some warm milk with left over cookies."
She kissed his cheek and went into the kitchen.
She took the milk he brought in and poured it into two tin mugs then turned on the stove.
She put the cups on the stove and took the cookies out of the pantry while she waited for the milk to warm.
She held out a cookie to him. "Want one now?"
"Okay." She shrugged and took a big bite out of it.
She rolled her eyes with a smirk and turned back to the milk.
She set the warm cups of milk on the table and put the container of cookies beside it.
He grabbed a cookie and dipped it in the milk.
Lucy did the same and smiled at him.

He grinned and took another bite of his cookie.
She smiled and dipped her cookie in the milk and took a bite.
He winked at her "I like warm milk"
'Me to. It'll help us sleep." She nodded.
His grinned broadened "I am sure it will"
"Especially me. I haven't been sleeping well lately." She sighed and sipped her warm milk.
"Thats too bad" he commented his smile disappearing.
She nodded solemnly and rubbed her tummy anxiously.
"Ready for bed then" he asked reaching for another cookie.
"Soon. I want to finish my milk." She nodded and sipped her milk.
"I talked to Jane in town." She told him, sipping her milk. "I asked her to be my midwife."
She nodded. "Yeah. I knew her from school. We used to be friends."
"Does she know what she is doing?" he asked.
"Every girl my age is suppose to know what to do." She shrugged. "But yes, she's done it before."
He raised and eyebrow "I was not aware that you knew what to do"
"It doesn't matter. I can't do it myself anyways." She laughed lightly.
He shook his head "I think it is a good idea to have someone else here."
She suddenly frowned and put her cup down. "Jeff, what if something happens?" She whispered.
He looked into her eyes "It won't"
She sighed and shook her head. "You don't know what."
He sighed "I know but everything is going to be fine"
"But let's say something does happen. You'll have to save the baby instead of me." She reached for is hand.
He shook his head "That won't happen"
