Lucy bumped into a shelf. She grunted and roamed her free hand around the shelves, her fingers wrapping around an arrange of cans.

Jeff stood in the darkness his heart beating way to fast as he held onto Lucy's warm hand. He felt so useless all of a sudden.
"Jeff! I found cans. They might be food." She told him, taking his hand and placing it on a can she had in her hand.
He felt it "yes I think so" he held onto the can in one hand and her hand in the other.
Through her periphery, Lucy saw the flash of the blue dress again. She contemplated whether to follow it or go back upstairs.
Jeff waited for Lucy to tug his hand and led him back up the stairs.
Lucy sighed and pulled Jeff with her up the stairs slowly. She would come back down later.
Jeff followed after her his stomach growling.
"Do you still have the can?" She asked softly as she neared the top.
"Yes" he said glad to be in more light.
Lucy stepped into the kitchen, still holding his hand.
He followed her into the kitchen not wanting to let go of her hand.
"Can you read the label?" She asked
He looked at the can in his hand "Looks like we got some peaches" he replied, holding the can up for her.
She read the can and beamed. "Jackpot." Lucy then leg go of his hand and took the can from him, placing it on the table and looking around for something to open it with.
He smiled looking also for something to open the can with.
Lucy opened and closer some cabinets, coming across a spoon that wasn't as dirty as everything else. She lifted a layer of her skirt and wiped the spoon clean as best she could.
Jeff watched her "well at least we have a sppon for as soon as we get the can open."
Lucy smirked and lifted the spoon above her head, examining it. "Bummer."
"What is the matter?" he asked curious.
"We can't eat if we can't get the can open." And said, tapping the spoon on the can.
He thought for a second trying to remember if he had seen a can opener anywhere he sighed "I haven't seen one, you don't think one would be down there?" he asked nodding to the door to the cellar.
Lucy swallowed hard. "It might be." She then looked up at him.
"I'm not that hungery then" he said looking down at her.
"I'll go get it. We need to eat." She said, stepping around the table and toward the cellar.
"I don't think that is a good idea" Jeff said remembering her trance.
"We need to eat. I'll be fine." She waved her hand in the air and opened the cellar door.
He walked to the cellar door "I won't let you go alone" he said folding his arms across his chest.
Lucy looked back at him, letting out a light laugh. "You won't let me?"
He shook his head his face set and grim.
She took a hasty step in from of him, barely touching him. Her head tilted up to look at him. "What are you going to do about it?" She said threateningly.
"I'm coming with you, you saw something down there" his voice trailed off.
She scoffed. "How do you know I saw something?" She said, hoping her lie wasn't obvious on her face.
"You were like in a trance, it was weird" he replied his eyes avoiding hers.
She didn't say anything because she knew he was right. Lucy sighed and stepped back, walking down into the cellar.
He quickly followed her his heart racing once again.
Lucy slowly made her way down the stairs, taking cautious steps as they descended into the darkness.
Jeff had to move slower than Lucy for some reason he couldn't see in the dark as much as her.
She slowed her pace when it got to dark for her to see. Her feet connected with the cement floor.?
Jeff reached the bottom and whispered "Lucy, Where are you?"
Lucy snuck up behind him and whispered his ear. "Right here."
Jeff jumped and almost fell over "Not funny Lucy" he growled.
Lucy giggled a little and took his hand, hopefully walking in the direction of the cans they found earlier.
Jeff held her hand tight and was led blindly forward.
After several minutes of wandering around in the dark, Lucy's extended hand finally found the shelf.
Jeff craned his head trying to see what else might be useful to them down there.
Lucy took both of his hands and placed them on the shelves. "You took for the can opener," she said, looking behind her where she spotted a blue glow. "I'll be right back." She added then stepped away.
"Lucy" he whispered a little scared his hands roaming across the shelf.
"I'm right here. You're okay." She said reassuringly, following the glow around the corner.
He continued to search with his hands for something to open a can with. He knocked over a few cans and he cursed under his breath.
