i do both. i wish you weren't limited on the number of books you can get with the KU. which, doesn't make sense to me, because it's ... hello... KU.

yes. you are only allowed so many books at one time. i ended up making a ku bookshelf, because there are quite a bit of ku that i want to read and dont want to forget... or space. lol. either way - i would say it's worth it. i have found some real gems on ku.

Reading and buying books to me is like having an art collection. When an author shares their stories I make the investment in them, so I can get more stories back. I am not a KU expert, but it is my understanding that the author's compensation is considerably less. I don't use KU. I did one month trail and it was ok. But a lot of the author's I read aren't on that service. But I am also a person that will buy a book when I have received an ARC for the same reason. We need to support authors.

Well said. And I have also bought books even though I have ARCs.

So between my library and the romance package I get the books I want from my favorite authors.

I've been on KU for a while now and I love it. I've reconnected with my love of romance and found some great authors from it. I'll also buy outside of KU since some of my favorite authors only put their books in KU for a limited time or don't put all their books in KU, and there are some still that I like who don't use KU at all.

Well stated Tara. Doctors get to pursue their passions so should authors.

Yes I have KU - simply to control the the money flow a little - Aside from books I get as ARC's to read for the Blog I spend a lot of money on books and KU at least helps a little ... Sometimes I read as much as one or two books in one day. Aside from it being great to get the books from authors I love - it is also a good way do safely find new authors because you do not feel like you lost extra money in case a book was not what you expected. I believe all new authors should use it ...
I am honestly that kind of reader the Penelope wrote about in Stepbrother Dearest - the one that takes the book to parties to hide in the restroom and read ...

I have a KU membership but also buy books...usually from authors I love. I tend to check out new authors via KU. I would say that I probably read more books on KU.

I'm glad to experience new authors and genres through KU, because honestly, I might not have discovered half of my book list. And my public library's romance section isn't always as contemporary as I want it to be.
